  • Patent number: 6500384
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the hardening treatment of sintered members which can impart sufficient wear resistance thereto at low cost without causing a reduction in dimensional accuracy due to heat distortion. This process for the hardening treatment of sintered members comprises the steps of coating an iron-based sinterable member with a Ni—P alloy powder containing 7 to 13% by weight of phosphorus so as to give a coating weight of 0.1 to 1.2 mg/mm2; sintering the iron-based sinterable member coated with the Ni—P alloy powder at a temperature in the range of 1,000 to 1,300° C.; and hardening the iron-based sintered member by cooling it at a cooling rate of not less than 10° C./min. until a temperature of 200° C. is reached.

  • Publication number: 20010026347
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device of the present invention has a structure in which vertically aligned liquid crystal is sealed between a TFT substrate and a CF substrate. Pixel electrodes in which slits are provided are formed on the TFT substrate, while cell gap holding spacers and domain defining projections are formed on the CF substrate. For example, positive type photoresist is coated on a common electrode. Then, first exposure is executed by using a mask for light-shielding spacer forming regions and projection forming regions, and then second exposure is executed by using a mask for light-shielding the spacer forming regions. Then, the photoresist is developed. Accordingly, the spacers and the projections, each having a different height, can be formed simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 6006800
Abstract: An apparatus for automatic distribution includes a frame (1) having at least a bottom frame portion (1a) and a side frame portion (1b), a tip holding rack (2) and at least one micro plate (4, 5) which are disposed on the bottom frame (1a). A pipette unit (21) is supported by the side frame portion (1b) and adapted to support a plurality of pipettes (43), each of which includes a plunger (41) fitted into a cylinder (35) for movement relative thereto in a vertical direction. In this apparatus the bottom frame portion (1a) is kept stationary and the entire pipette unit (21) can be reciprocally moved in a horizontal direction so that, while the entire pipette unit (21) is being moved reciprocally in the horizontal direction, the pipette unit picks up a plurality of tips (44) from the tip holding rack (2) in order to distribute liquid with respect to a plurality of wells (4a-4h) of the micro plate.

  • Patent number: 5542155
Abstract: A holderless hose clip, primarily for use in preventing piping hoses from falling off of connecting pipes in automotive vehicles, includes a clip body formed of a leaf spring having the shape of an annular band and which clamps the hose when released from a spread-diameter state to assume a free state. A pair of grip strips are formed by bending the ends of the clip body, respectively. An engagement claw and an engagement recess are formed on the respective grip strips to secure the grip strips to each other when the grip strips are gripped, so that the clip body is held in the spread-diameter state. The engagement claw has a guide face for guiding the grip strips axially of the clip body when the grip strips are gripped whereupon the engagement claw is received in the recess.

  • Patent number: 5444439
Abstract: A data setting system for terminal units using an optical wireless signal includes in the respective terminal units a data storing device and a receiving device for the optical wireless signal and, in a data operating device separate from the terminal units, an operating device for preparing and transmitting a setting signal to the terminal units. The setting of data in the respective terminal units employed in a remote supervisory and controlling system using a multiplex data transmission is thereby possible from a remote position from the terminal units through the optical wireless signal.
