  • Patent number: 5041819
Abstract: In a data processing device having a display and a keyboard, a cursor on the display is moved with each of input keys on the keyboard in a predetermined processing mode designated by a mode change key. There are two ways for determining the directions to which the cursor is moved. One is that the directions is determined in accordance with a positinal relationship between two keys successively operated. The other is that the directions is determined in accordance with a positional relationship between the operated key and a reference key determined in advance. Thus, each of keys for respectively inputting codes are utilized as cursor movement keys.

  • Patent number: 4931958
Abstract: For reducing the number of display data RAM chips to designate one pattern of a character pattern ROM which contains patterns of a large number of characters and needs a large number of bits to be designated, a clock signal whose cycle time is the same or less than the updating cycle time of the designating address data of the display data RAM is employed to address the display data RAM. Conventionally, the data of the display data RAM to designate the character pattern ROM is stored separately in different chips when the data length (bit number) becomes large. But, according to the present invention, the data is stored separately in one chip.

  • Patent number: 4903013
Abstract: A display system for displaying characters on a screen which is divided into a plurality of display areas and for allowing a scroll within each of the display areas with one chip of display data RAM without image confusion between the display area. The display data RAM is also divided into plural areas corresponding to the display areas. This system includes address conversion circuit provided between a display controller and the display data RAM for converting a virtual address outputted from the display controller into an actual address of the display data RAM. Here the virtual address is an address out of actual address of the display data RAM.

  • Patent number: 4615915
Abstract: A thick resin film is formed on the joint part of a welded metallic can body by first coating the joint part with a primer composed of a solution of a thermosetting resin in an organic solvent and drying it, and then coating the dried primer layer with a slurry paint composed of a dispersion of a thermoplastic resin powder in a poor solvent, and drying the coating. The resin powder has a specific gravity differing from that of the poor solvent by not more than 0.2.

  • Patent number: 4567935
Abstract: This invention is directed to the process and system for controlling the level of molten metal in a plurality of vertically oriented, continuous or semicontinuous casting units, particularly electromagnetic casting units. The flows of molten metal to the individual casting units are adjusted automatically in response to a control set point signal from a master controller in order to maintain essentially the same molten metal level in all of the casting units. Improved startup and termination procedures are also given.

  • Patent number: 4353388
Abstract: This invention provides a butterfly valve in which gland packing portions for preventing fluid leakage are provided between a valve stem carrying a valve closure member rotatable in a valve housing and tubular portions of the housing receiving the stem, and bearing portions for the stem are disposed outwardly of the gland packing portions. Each of the gland packing portions is divided into two sections between which a bearing member is provided to support the stem. Thus the stem is supported by the bearing portions and the bearing members.

  • Patent number: 4334433
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring the thicknesses of a cladding layer and a base metal layer by applying ultrasonic waves on the side of a sample opposite the cladding layer. The reflected waves are sensed and displayed on an oscilloscope. Using a disclosed technique for eliminating noise and interference, the position of the interface between the cladding layer and base metal layer are measured from a pulse produced due to the discontinuity of acoustic impedance at the interface.

  • Patent number: 4223992
Abstract: There is disclosed a release device of a camera simple in structure and enabling the camera of "one shot" and successive photographings. The release device comprises a conventional self-cocking mechanism and a locking and unlocking member in addition. The locking and unlocking member is operated by a member movable in response to film winding operation and actuates a shutter release member to release the release member when the film winding operation is completed.

  • Patent number: 4117502
Abstract: A camera provided with a device for recording the ambient light in photographed scene on a photosensitive material. In this light recorder built-in camera, the light of a main light source is projected and recorded at a position corresponding to an object image-projected face of a color film and when a color print is formed from a positive color photosensitive material, by using the density of the light of the main light source obtained by subjecting the color film to a development treatment, exposure quantities of blue, green and red colors are determined.
