  • Patent number: 4970435
Abstract: In a plasma processing apparatus of this invention, a reaction chamber opposed to a plasma generating chmaber is entirely opened at its one side surface opposing the obect to be processed, and an interval between the one side surface and the other side surface is set to be an integer multiple of a 1/2 wavelength of the microwave. A microwave oscillated by a microwave oscillator and supplied to a vacuum vessel can be converted into a plasma energy with high conversion efficiency, thereby minimizing a reflected wave.

  • Patent number: 4807250
Abstract: In a predictive coding device which is for coding an input signal into a coded signal, such as a PCM signal, and for use in combination with a transmission line having an on and an off state wherein the coding device is selectively connected to the transmission line and disconnected therefrom, a code converter (16) operatively coupling the transmission line to produce a mute signal of a predetermined code as a first local output signal and the coded signal as a second local output signal when the transmission line is in the off and the on states, respectively. A local decoder (15) locally decodes either the first or the second local output signal into a local decoded signal for use in coding the input signal into the coded signal. Preferably, the predetermined code is a code which the coded signal has when the input signal carries no information. Usually, the coding device is selectively connected to the transmission line and disconnected therefrom through a digital speech interpolation (DSI) device.

  • Patent number: 4490112
Abstract: An orthodontic system including an ultraelastic archwire having a transformation temperature of normal body temperature of about 37.degree. C. is provided. Only a small load is applied to the teeth when the orthodontic system is disposed in a patient's mouth. An increased load is applied to the teeth only when the temperature in the mouth is increased by placing a material having a higher than body temperature in the mouth. As a result, the temperature in the patient's mouth can be controlled without inflicting pain during natural every day actions. The orthodontic effect is available intermittently by raising the mouth temperature for producing higher stress or load which serves to move the teeth orthodontically. The ultaelastic alloy is preferably Ni-Ti alloy containing at least about 50.5 atomic percent of nickel and preferably about 50.7 atomic percent.

  • Patent number: 4401951
Abstract: A bias circuit for use in the single-ended push-pull circuit has NPN and PNP transistors whose emitters are connected to each other and whose collectors provide a bias voltage, diodes and resistance elements. On the operating side, the diode gives a reference voltage and the resistance element detects the voltage corresponding to the increase of the output voltage exceeding the reference voltage. Simultaneously, on the unoperating side, the diode decreases the voltage between its both terminals. Thus the bias voltage is made larger, by positive feedback operation on the operating side and by negative feedback operation on the unoperating side, enough to prevent output power transistor on the unoperating side from being cut off.
