  • Patent number: 10080600
Abstract: An elongated electrode includes a proximal conductor, a tubular member, and a treatment portion. The tubular member defines a channel therethrough and has proximal and distal end portions. The proximal end portion receives the proximal conductor within a portion of the channel and defines a hole through an inner and outer surface of the tubular member in fluid communication with the channel. The treatment portion is coupled to the distal end portion of the tubular member and includes a base and an arm extending distally from the base. The base defines a port in fluid communication with the channel of the tubular member. The arm is in electrical communication with the proximal conductor and is configured to deliver electrosurgical energy to tissue.

  • Publication number: 20180257064
Abstract: A method of preparing a metal-doped zeolite catalyst with a modified topology (e.g. a pillared zeolite or a delaminated zeolite), and a method of using thereof in a process for converting an alkyl-aromatic hydrocarbon stream to BTX (benzene/toluene/xylene), wherein an enhanced pore topology in the metal-doped zeolite catalyst determines a selectivity to transalkylation of trimethylbenzene to xylene, which in turn leads to a higher xylene yield. Various embodiments of the method of preparing the metal-doped zeolite catalyst, and the process for converting the alkyl-aromatic hydrocarbon stream to BTX are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10040052
Abstract: The composite adsorbent for an adsorption chiller is a composite material formed from multi-walled carbon nanotubes incorporated into a metal organic framework, where the metal organic framework is MIL-101(Cr). The MIL-101 family of metal organic frameworks include terephthalate (benzene 1,4-dicarboxylate) linkers and M3O-carboxylate trimers (M=Cr or Fe) with octrahedrally coordinated metal ions binding terminal water molecules. MIL-101 frameworks having a crystal structure with very large pore sizes (29 and 34 Angstroms) and surface area, and are known to have a large water uptake. However, metal organic frameworks have low thermal conductivity due to the presence of organic matter, resulting in lower heat transfer rates and greater cycle time, and are not stable in aqueous media or disintegrate slowly upon recurrent hydrothermal cycling. Composite binding with multi-wall carbon nanotubes improves heat transfer characteristics and thermal stability.

  • Patent number: 9480967
Abstract: The metal organic framework adsorbent for solar adsorption refrigeration is a nanocomposite made from a metal organic framework matrix having carbon nanotubes incorporated therein. Preferably, the metal organic framework is composed of MIL-100(Fe), and the carbon nanotubes are functionalized with carboxyl (COOH) groups. In order to prepare the metal organic framework adsorbent, carbon nanotubes functionalized with carboxyl (COOH) groups are first added to an aqueous solution of a precursor salt, such as ferric trinitrate nonahydrate (Fe(NO3)3.9H2O), to form a first mixture. The first mixture is then sonicated and a 1,3,5 benzenetricarboxylic acid ligand is added thereto to form a second mixture. The second mixture is then sonicated and heated, and the metal organic framework nanocomposite is separated therefrom, preferably as a powder.
