  • Publication number: 20180251285
Abstract: A method of packaging a bicycle having at least one wheel axle with exposed ends in a shipping carton. The method includes attaching a guard over at least one of the exposed ends of the axle by sliding the axle through a slotted opening in the guard and using the guard to tighten a fastener to positively secure the guard on the axle. A distal surface of the guard is aligned with a side of the carton and the bicycle is placed into the carton with the distal guard surface adjacent to a side of the carton.

  • Publication number: 20180224055
Abstract: The present invention provides support frames for positive pressure blowers having one or more wheels mounted at a lower corner of the frame, wherein the wheels are mounted to roll in a direction that is perpendicular to the flow of air through the blower. This sideways orientation of the wheels allows a frame carrying a blower to be easily moved from side to side, such as when placed into or removed from a side compartment on an emergency vehicle, and allows such a frame carrying a blower to be easily tilted, turned and rolled around at the scene of a fire in much the same manner as a wheelbarrow. Embodiments of the invention may include an upper handle or grip which allows a user to control the frames by tilting and rolling them around on the wheels. Embodiments of the invention may include a support bracket for holding a battery or other power supply.

  • Patent number: 9945931
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses and computer-readable storage media for navigating an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) using signals of opportunity are disclosed. The UAV may include a receiver for detecting a plurality of signals at two or more receiver elements. The UAV may estimate an angle of arrival (AoA) for at least two signals of the plurality of signals, and may estimate a position of the receiver based, at least in part, on the AoA for each of the at least two signals. Known locations of the transmitters that are transmitting the at least two signals may be used in conjunction with the AoAs to determine the estimate of the position of the receiver. More than two signals may be used to localize the estimated position of the receiver.

  • Patent number: 9878930
Abstract: An enhanced apparatus system and method may be used to facilitate the construction of a processing tank such as an anaerobic digester. The kit may include a cover assembly that can be assembled to form a cover for the processing tank, a side wall assembly that can be assembled to form a side wall for the processing tank, and a plurality of ballast support assemblies. Each ballast support assembly may have a retracted configuration in which the ballast support assembly avoids significantly impeding vertical motion of the ballast block from an initial ballast location to a final ballast location, and a deployed configuration in which the ballast block can be supported by the ballast support assembly in the final ballast location.

  • Patent number: 9784432
Abstract: An optical assembly includes a first reflector having a reflective surface with a first lateral extent, and a second reflector having a reflective surface with a smaller, second lateral extent. The second reflector is disposed such that the second reflective surface opposes the first reflective surface with a space therebetween. A light emitter couples with the first reflector such that the light emitter emits light along a central axis, away from the first reflector and toward the second reflector. A translucent diffuser substantially spans the space between the first and second reflectors. A majority of the light emitted by the light emitter reflects from the first and second reflectors, and impinges on and passes through the diffuser. A luminaire that includes the optical assembly also includes an outer shell having a form that is analogous to a shape of the diffuser of the optical assembly.

  • Patent number: 9760913
Abstract: Providing user software feedback and conflict resolution from a kiosk device. A computer of the kiosk captures audio and visual data from a user during an interaction between the user and software of the kiosk device. The computer analyzes the audio data and visual data to determine at least a sentiment of the user relative to the interaction and determines a score for the interaction. If the score is greater than a threshold, the computer determining at least a portion of the software needs improvement based on the score and the determined sentiment of the user during the interaction.

  • Publication number: 20170111434
Abstract: A geographically distributed highly available mailbox system that includes at least first and second data centers servicing different geographical locations. A payload is received by at least one server of the first data center from a first user to be later accessed by a second user. A server from a second data center replicates the payload from the server of the first data center and the first server of the first data center sends notification to the first user that a payload has been uploaded successfully and sends out notification to the second user that the payload has been uploaded. When the second user sends a request to access the payload, the second user is directed to either the first data center or the second data center based on which data center can provide the second user with the quickest access to the payload.
