  • Patent number: 9298697
Abstract: Techniques are provided for composing and testing grammar rules that are configured to provide feedback on violations of target grammar guidelines in the text of documents. Tests may be performed to determine whether a new grammar rule produces false positives, is redundant or conflicts with other rules, or is expensive to apply to a document. A user may test the rule, in isolation or with other rules, on a batch of documents. A display of a summary of feedback that is generated in the batch of documents by the rules is provided. The user may also apply a rule to documents submitted for feedback as a hidden rule. Any violations of a hidden rule are recorded, but feedback on the violations is not provided in submitted documents. Furthermore, a user may indicate a level for a rule, which may control the set of documents to which the rule is applied.

  • Patent number: 9244111
Abstract: A testing device determines values of various electrical variables associated with a device within a process system. The testing device provides bi-directional electrical communication with a device to be monitored and automatically provides a connection configuration between a processing unit and a set of input/output ports. The processing unit outputs a test signal and a configuration control signal to the input/output port control circuitry. The input/output port control circuitry provides a connection configuration to direct the test signal to the device to be monitored and directs a return signal from the monitored device to the processing unit. The processing unit measures an electrical characteristic of the return signal and determines at least two electrical variables associated with the monitored device based upon the measured electrical characteristic of the return signal.

  • Patent number: 9198556
Abstract: A method of operating a dishwasher having a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber and at least one rotating sprayer provided in the treating chamber to determine a standstill condition of the rotating sprayer during an automatic cycle of operation that includes a rotation of the spray arm.

  • Publication number: 20150338059
Abstract: An optical assembly includes a first reflector having a reflective surface with a first lateral extent, and a second reflector having a reflective surface with a smaller, second lateral extent. The second reflector is disposed such that the second reflective surface opposes the first reflective surface with a space therebetween. A light emitter couples with the first reflector such that the light emitter emits light along a central axis, away from the first reflector and toward the second reflector. A translucent diffuser substantially spans the space between the first and second reflectors. A majority of the light emitted by the light emitter reflects from the first and second reflectors, and impinges on and passes through the diffuser. A luminaire that includes the optical assembly also includes an outer shell having a form that is analogous to a shape of the diffuser of the optical assembly.

  • Patent number: 9142636
Abstract: A III-Nitride field-effect transistor, specifically a HEMT, comprises a channel layer, a barrier layer on the channel layer, an etch stop layer on the cap layer, a dielectric layer on the etch stop layer, a gate recess that extends to the barrier layer, and a gate contact in the gate recess. The etch stop layer may reduce damage associated with forming the recessed gate by not exposing the barrier layer to dry etching. The etch stop layer in the recess is removed and the remaining etch stop layer serves as a passivation layer.

  • Patent number: 9008869
Abstract: A low-altitude altimeter (10) and a method of determining low altitudes for unmanned aerial vehicles (24). The altimeter includes at least two illuminators (12, 14), at least one sensor (16), and a computing device (18). The illuminators (12, 14) emit signals which are received by the sensor (16) in such a way that an angle at which they are received is determinable by the computing device (18). The computing device (18) processes each signal received by the sensor (16), determines the angle at which the sensor (16) received the signal, and, based thereon, determines the altitude of the unmanned aerial vehicle (24). When a first pair of illuminators are arranged along a fuselage axis, and a second pair of illuminators are arranged orthogonally to that axis, the computing device can combine first and second altitude, pitch angle, and roll angle measurements to provide a more refined altitude determination.
