  • Patent number: 7194018
Abstract: A multipath searching device includes a radio front-end for converting a received radio signal into a baseband signal and for outputting the baseband signal. A profile calculating unit is included for calculating and outputting the multipath profile of the baseband signal. A first detector determines whether or not the radio signal traveled along a multipath is having a short-delay path by comparing the peak value of the multipath profile with a profile value of a predetermined position time interval before or after the peak of the multipath profile. A path selector receives the multipath profile and the detection result of the first detector, generates time delay information for each path, and separates many paths along which the radio signal traveled. A receiving unit receives the time delay information of the paths, despreads the baseband signal, and combines despread signals.

  • Publication number: 20050231614
Abstract: A FOV(field of view) dependent LOS(line of sight) scan method and apparatus for a turret aided camera system with continuous zoom optics is disclosed. According to this invention, the scan width and rate of the LOS are automatically determined as a function of the FOV selected by the user: scan width=f1(FOV, m) and scan rate=f2(FOV, te) where m is the observation range constant and te is the eye integration time. Moreover, the sensitivity to the FOV can be controlled by adjusting the relevant parameter sets (said m and te), allowing the user to select the scan condition proper to himself. This invention is quite useful for all kinds of turret aided camera system (the IR or day light TV cameras) for reconnoitering application.

  • Publication number: 20050135408
Abstract: Provided is a distributed and asynchronous implicit token carrier sense multiple access/collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol guaranteeing quality of service for both real time and non-real time traffic. The implicit token CSMA/CA protocol allocates a band in an entire bandwidth to voice traffic and allows the remaining bands to be used for data traffic. The implicit token CSMA/CA protocol includes applying a token passing protocol to transmit voice traffic in real time by having a band in an entire bandwidth allocated using a predetermined data frame and applying a CSMA/CA mechanism to transmit data traffic in non-real time by employing remaining bands not allocated to the voice traffic using another predetermined data frame.

  • Patent number: 6534270
Abstract: Disclosed are biochips having a high detecting sensitivity with readiness in fabrication of microarray, and a method for fabricating the same, in which a solid support wound with fibers is immersed in a solution containing biomolecules to immobilize the biomolecules onto the fiber, and the individual fibers with the biomolecules immobilized thereon are straightened and arranged. The arranged fibers are embedded with a defined material and cut in a direction perpendicular to the lengthwise arrangement direction of the fibers to obtain thin chips. The chips are placed on a substrate to remove the material used for embedding and thereby remain fibers with the immobilized biomolecules on the substrate. This biochip fabrication method immobilizes a great number of biomolecules onto the fibers having a large surface area to enhance the detection sensitivity and allows production of a great number of substrates with an array of biomolecules immobilized simultaneously.
