The heat dissipation structure comprises: a display panel; a heat dissipating sheet contacting a rear surface of the display panel; and a chassis base disposed on a rear side of the heat dissipating sheet and connected to the display panel via a double-sided adhesive element. Each subfield may be divided into a mixing drive period, including a group address period and a group sustain period, and a correction sustain period for realizing gray scale. During the group sustain periods, an application period of a first voltage in a subfield having a minimum gray-level weight may be longer than an application period of the first voltage in subfields having larger gray-level weights. The correction sustain period may include a common sustain period and a selection sustain period.

The plasma display apparatus also includes a driver integrated circuit (IC) electrically connected to electrodes of the PDP and the driving circuit board at a position therebetween, the driver IC selectively providing a voltage to the electrodes of the PDP in accordance with signals controlled by the driving circuit board. The plasma display apparatus also has a heat dissipation unit positioned at the edge of the PDP wherein the heat dissipation unit dissipates heat from the driver IC.

Also, a back cover is positioned adjacent to a surface of the chassis base opposite the surface adjacent to the PDP and is integrally assembled to the front cabinet with the chassis base and the plasma display panel interposed therebetween. The plasma display device also includes thermoelectric semiconductor devices that are mounted within the back cover. The thermoelectric semiconductor devices act to discharge heat generated by the PDP and the driving circuit boards to outside the back cover.
