  • Publication number: 20060018557
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for filtering a blocking effect in an image, which removes the blocking effect that may occur in an image that is compressed in block units in compression and/or decompression of a moving image. The apparatus and method for filtering a blocking effect in an image involves a single blocky pattern and a double blocky pattern and uses filtering that is suitable for these patterns. Also, the method for filtering a blocking effect in an image separately filters pixels in a top field and pixels in a bottom field when a macroblock in a frame picture is coded in a field mode.

  • Publication number: 20040252233
Abstract: In the scanning conversion apparatus, interlaced-to-progressive scanning is performed according to one of at least two different techniques. The technique used depends on the interlaced scan data being converted. As examples, a spatial interpolation technique, a spatial/temporal interpolation technique, or other technique may be selected.

  • Patent number: 6809665
Abstract: An apparatus and method for decoding a variable length code, wherein a user can set a variable length decoding table, are provided. The apparatus comprises a pre-decoding unit, a shifter, first through M-th look-up table address registers, selector, a memory controller, a memory, and a memory searcher. To decode a variable length coded data bitstream in units of 3 bits, a LOC information table can be prepared based on a variable length coding table. The LOC information table comprises LOC information bits and node types. LOC information bits for each node type are expressed using four formats A, B, C, and D to express the characteristic of a branch generated during 3-bit decoding, each of the formats A, B, C, and D having a digital value of 2 bits. The pre-decoding unit comprises a first pre-decoder and a second pre-decoder. One of the first pre-decoder and the second pre-decoder is selected according to the characteristic of a code of an input data bitstream.

  • Publication number: 20040192807
Abstract: The present invention relates to a resin composition for digital printing on a metallic material and a printing method using the resin composition. The resin composition comprises 40 to 70 wt % of at least one selected from acrylics, polyurethanes, polyvinyl alcohols and epoxy-based resins, 20 to 50 wt % of at least one diluent selected from methyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, ethyl acetate and toluene, 3 to 20 wt % of silica as a printing propriety imparting agent, 0.05 to 1 wt % of a wetting agent and 0.01 to 30 wt % of a curing agent. The resin composition can be applied directly to a metallic material through digital printing. Further, the resin composition is excellent in view of resolution, adhesivity and durability and allows printing processes to be shortened, thereby reducing costs.

  • Patent number: 6798365
Abstract: A joint photographic expert group (JPEG) Huffman table decoder and a method thereof based on a binary search technique. The JPEG Huffman table decoder performs symbol matching based on the binary search and calculates an address of the matched symbol in code book data. Comparison time and an amount of memory required for searching the symbols are reduced.

  • Patent number: 5930733
Abstract: A stereophonic image may be enhanced by splitting the left and right input audio signals into a plurality of left and right output signals in a plurality of audio frequency bands and then generating left and right output audio signals from the left and right output signals based on the magnitude of the differences between corresponding left and right output signals and also based upon the absolute magnitude of the left and right input audio signals themselves. In particular, a stereophonic image enhancement device according to the invention processes a left input signal and a right input signal using a first spectrum analyzer and a second spectrum analyzer which output a plurality of left output signals and right output signals corresponding to a plurality of frequency bands in response to the corresponding left input signal and right input signal.
