  • Patent number: 6199739
Abstract: A nail gun includes a contact arm that is movable relative to a nail gun body between an upper first stroke end position and a lower second stroke end position. The contact arm may prevent the nails from being driven when it is in the first stroke end position. A nail driving prevention device includes an engaging member that is movable to enter the moving path of the contact arm so as to prevent the contact arm from moving from the first stroke end position toward the second stroke end position when the number of the nails in a nail magazine has been reduced to a predetermined number. A deviating device is operable to change the moving course of the engaging member away from the moving path of the contact arm when the contact arm is positioned above the first stroke end position.

  • Patent number: 6192996
Abstract: A hammer drill (1) includes an intermediate shaft (13), a clutch ring (25), a second gear (20), and a boss (15) all mounted on the intermediate shaft (13). Also included are a rotatable change lever (40) and a clutch plate (31) which has lock claws (36). When the change lever (40) is fully rotated in the clockwise direction, the hammer drill (1) is placed in a drill-only mode where the clutch ring (25) meshes only with the second gear (20). When the change lever (40) is rotated approximately 45 degrees counterclockwise from the foregoing position, the hammer drill (1) is placed in a hammer drill mode, where the clutch ring (25) meshes with the second gear (20) and the boss (15). When the change lever (40) is rotated approximately another 45 degrees counterclockwise, the hammer drill (1) is placed in a neutral position where tile second gear (20) is disengaged from the clutch ring (25), with the clutch ring (25) remaining in mesh with the boss (15).

  • Patent number: 6161744
Abstract: A fastener tool includes a body having a driver guide mounted thereon. The driver guide extends downwardly from the body and has a longitudinal axis in a driving direction of fasteners. A control member may be movably mounted on the body for controlling a fastener driving operation. A support leg device serves to permit the tool to be placed on a surface in an upright position, in which the driver guide extends substantially vertically relative to the surface. The support leg device defines a predetermined support area extending in a plane for abutment with the surface. The support leg device is arranged such that the tool center of gravity is positioned directly above the support area in a plan view when the tool is in the upright position, in which the support area extends substantially horizontally, so that the control member does not substantially interfere with the surface.

  • Patent number: 6157153
Abstract: A motor driver has a braking control circuit. The braking control circuit shuts off the supply of an electric current to the coils included in the motor when a motor control signal shifts to a predetermined level and, after a predetermined length of time secured in accordance with an index signal, starts application of braking to the rotation of the motor by the use of a braking circuit. The index signal is obtained from the signal that indicates the rotational position of the motor. The motor control signal is fed from a control signal generating circuit to the braking control circuit.

  • Patent number: 5767639
Abstract: A control system for a three phase brushless motor suitable for use in a three and a half inch flexible magnetic disk drive. The control system needs but one Hall effect sensor for providing a rotor position signal indicative of the angular position of the rotor relative to stator windings. Comparators compare the rotor position signal with reference voltages and provide moment signals indicative of the moments the rotor position signal crosses the reference voltage levels. Three phase motor excitation control signals are produced by counters which count clock pulses for preset periods in response to the moment signals. Motor speed is controlled on the basis of not only the actual motor speed but also the phase difference between the clock pulses and a signal indicative of the moments the rotor position signal crosses zero.
