  • Patent number: 5648693
Abstract: A stator includes a frequency generating pattern, a driving coil composite pattern and lead lines. A rotor includes a frequency generating pattern, a driving coil composite and lead lines. A rotor includes a rotor magnet. A separation angle formed by the lead lines is an angle obtained by multiplying an integer and an separation angle formed by a pair of S-pole and magnetic poles of the rotor magnet adjacent to each other. Further, assuming that that an area between the lead lines and U-phase coils produce overlapping areas Su.sub.1 and Su.sub.2 in a top view, that the same area and a V-phase coil produce an overlapping area Sv.sub.1, and that the same area and a W-phase coil produce an overlapping area Sw.sub.1, the relationship Su.sub.1 +Su.sub.2 :Sv.sub.1 :Sw.sub.1 =1.0:1.0:1.0 exits. With this arrangement, the lead lines are least affected by the rotor magnet and the driving coil composite.

  • Patent number: 5589722
Abstract: A sheet coil motor is configured such that a plurality of coil units are attached to a circuit substrate at a predetermined interval, the interval separating the coil units are regular. Each of the plurality of coil units includes a plurality of coils and has a shape of a sector. Accordingly, the sheet coil motor can be made thin, the number of driving sheet coils can be reduced, and the production cost can be reduced. A method of fabricating the sheet coil motor includes the steps of printing, on a sheet base, a plurality of sheet coil units, in which units a plurality of sector-shaped coils are provided, such that the coil units lie in alternately opposite directions, cutting out the sheet coil units from the sheet base, attaching sheet coil units, in which units a plurality of sector-shaped coils are provided, on a substrate at an arbitrary distance from each other, and attaching driving sheet coils thus fabricated to the substrate so as to be opposite a rotor magnet at a close distance.

  • Patent number: 5524175
Abstract: A general neuro-computer and system using it is capable of executing a plurality of learning algorithms, providing an instruction execution speed comparable with a hard wired system, and practically neglecting a time required for rewriting microprograms. The neuro-computer is constituted by a neuron array having a plurality of neurons, a control storage unit for storing microinstructions, a parameter register, a control logic, and a global memory. A host computer as a user interface inputs information necessary for the learning and execution of the neuro-computer to the system, the information including learning algorithms, neural network architecture, the number of learnings, the number of input patterns, input signals, and desired signals. The information inputted from the host computer is transferred via a SCSI to the neuro-computer to perform a desired neural network operation.

  • Patent number: 5450260
Abstract: A disk drive with a turntable for supporting a flexible magnetic disk thereon has a spindle extending centrally through the turntable for engaging a first opening formed centrally in a sheet metal hub of the disk, and a drive pin arranged eccentrically of the turntable for driving the disk by engaging a second opening formed eccentrically in the disk hub. The drive pin support is made of a sheet metal support of resilient material and has an arcuate shape which is mounted flat to an underside of the turntable for deflection in a plan normal to that of the turntable. In view of the reduction of the space required for the deflection of the drive pin support and the total thickness or height of the disk drive, the drive pin is erected on an offset head portion of the support.

  • Patent number: 5436583
Abstract: A reference period generating circuit is provided which generates a pulse having a width corresponding/to a reference period T.sub.1 in response to the input of a trigger pulse. A switch, a first resistor and a second resistor are connected in series between the first and second reference voltages. The node between the first and second resistors is connected to an inverting terminal of an operational amplifier. A non-inverting terminal thereof is connected to a third reference voltage. A clamping circuit is provided to clamp the output voltage of the operational amplifier to a predetermined value. By comparing the output voltage with a predetermined reference value by means of a comparator, a pulse representative of a timing period is generated.

  • Patent number: 5400191
Abstract: An index pulse generating system utilizes two periodic motor speed signals, one generated by a speed sensor coil actuated upon by a permanent magnet rotor mounted to a turntable, and the other generated by one of magnetoelectric converters acted upon by another permanent magnet rotor mounted to the turntable as a part of a disk drive motor. The two motor speed signals are translated respectively into two series of discrete motor speed pulses. One of the two series of motor speed pulses are produced at rates of two different predetermined numbers per complete revolution of the turntable. The two predetermined numbers have no common measure so that an AND gate or the like inputting the two series of motor speed pulses puts out at least one pulse during each turntable revolution, with the output pulse being representative of a specific angular position of the turntable.

  • Patent number: 5264976
Abstract: A disk drive for use with a flexible magnetic disk having a sheet metal hub with a central hole and an eccentric slot formed therein. The disk drive has a turntable on which the disk is to be placed for joint rotation therewith. The turntable has a spindle disposed centrally for centering engagement in the central hole in the disk, and a drive pin disposed eccentrically on the turntable for driving engagement in the eccentric slot. Erected on the free end of a lever which is pivotally mounted to the turntable, the drive pin is biased to travel substantially radially outwardly of the turntable so that the disk may be engaged by the spindle and the drive pin without looseness. Since the data storage disk when first loaded on the turntable rests slantingly thereon, with the drive pin butting endwise against the disk, until the drive pin becomes engaged in the disk slot with the rotation of the turntable, the support lever is formed to include a constricted neck portion intermediate the opposite ends thereof.

  • Patent number: 5245235
Abstract: A spindle motor able to reduce leaking of magnetic flux of an index magnet to a magnetic head of a disc apparatus. In an axial gap type spindle motor having a rotor case rotatably supported by a base plate, an index magnet is provided to a face of the rotor case opposite to the base plate. A hall device is provided in an open space between a plurality of coils arranged radially on the base plate at a position opposite to the index magnet.
