  • Patent number: 5166522
Abstract: A measured electron beam having a polarization vector as represented by arrow is irradiated to a ferromagnetic target made of an iron single crystal through a polarization vector rotator comprising a magnetic field generation coil and an electrostatic lens. A magnetic field generator is coupled with the target and aligns the direction of magnetization of the target in a direction represented by arrow. An oscillator for providing a rotation signal of the polarization vector of the measured electron beam is connected to the polarization vector rotator. The current absorbed by the target is detected and amplified by a current amplifier. A lock-in amplifier detects the phase and the magnitude of an A.C. component using the signal from the oscillator as a reference signal. The magnitude of the D.C. component of the absorbed current is detected by a D.C. current detector.

  • Patent number: 4805921
Abstract: A mechanical shaft joint boot integrally made up of a large-diameter ring portion and a small-diameter ring portion with a bellows portion interposed therebetween, and a straight portion connecting the bellows portion with the large-diameter ring portion. The distance 11 between the large-diameter ring portion and the small-diameter ring portion is smaller than the distance l2 between a large-diameter ring mounting portion and a small-diameter ring mounting portion of the joint, and the outside diameter of a first crest of the bellows portion is not larger than the inside diameter of the straight portion. Accordingly, when a shaft of the joint inclines to cause inclination on one side of the boot, a surface pressure being imposed on the first crest is not increased correspondingly, thereby suppressing its wear and enhancing service time of the boot.

  • Patent number: 4394186
Abstract: A high-strength cold-rolled steel sheet with dual-phase structure, recently developed by the Japanese steel producers have a low yield ratio of approximately 0.6 or lower, is free of the yield-point elongation and is of excellent press-formability. One of the production methods of this steel is a continuous annealing at a temperature range of two-phase structure of ferrite (.alpha.)+austenite (.gamma.). In order to improve the formability, the artificial-aging hardenability after forming, yield ratio and ductility over those of the known dual-phase steel, the present invention provides a method for producing a dual-phase steel, which comprise a step of cooling from the annealing temperature to a temperature not higher than 200.degree. C. at an average cooling rate (R.sub.1) in the range of 1.degree. C./second.gtoreq.R.sub.1 .ltoreq.30.degree. C./second over the primary cooling stage from the annealing temperature down to an intermediate temperature (T) in the range of 420.degree. C..ltoreq.T.ltoreq.700.
