  • Patent number: 9932011
Abstract: An airbag includes a main inflation portion, in which an inflator is arranged, and an auxiliary inflation portion, the volume of which is smaller than that of the main inflation portion. The main inflation portion is deployed forward in a space between an occupant and a side wall of the vehicle. Prior to the deployment of the main inflation portion outside the seat back, the auxiliary inflation portion is inflated inside the seat back with inflation gas from the inflator to push the occupant toward the inner side. The main inflation portion and the auxiliary inflation portion each have a communication port that connects the main inflation portion and the auxiliary inflation portion to each other. The airbag includes an inflation promoting structure, which promotes the inflation of the auxiliary inflation portion compared to the inflation of the main inflation portion.

  • Publication number: 20180086302
Abstract: An airbag is deployed and inflated by inflating gas discharged from a plurality of gas discharge portions. The airbag is divided into a plurality of inflation chambers. At least one of the inflation chambers is an independent inflation chamber that restricts flow of inflation gas to and from adjacent ones of the inflation chambers. Two or more of the inflation chambers including the independent inflation chamber are discharge inflation chambers, each including the gas discharge portion. The gas discharge portions include a first gas discharge portion that starts discharging the inflation gas at a first timing and a second gas discharge portion that starts discharging the inflation gas at a second timing, which differs from the first timing. • Patent number: 9925948
Abstract: An airbag is inflatable in such a manner as to separate a vehicle-side wall which is deployable towards a vehicle body structure and an occupant-side wall which is deployable towards an occupant for catching the occupant. The airbag is configured to be supported by the vehicle body structure on the vehicle-side wall when catching the occupant with the occupant-side wall. The airbag includes a recessed section on left and right sides of and in a vicinity of the center of the occupant-side wall and a tether that connects the bottom of the recessed section to the vehicle-side wall in order to form the recessed section. Opposing walls of the recessed section press each other in a separable fashion when the airbag is inflated. The tether allows gas communication between a central region of the airbag and a peripheral region of the airbag which surrounds the central region, inside the airbag.

  • Publication number: 20170369020
Abstract: A side airbag apparatus includes an inflator, an airbag having a main inflation portion and an auxiliary inflation portion, and a restriction portion. The main inflation portion is configured to be inflated by inflation gas supplied from the inflator and deployed forward in a space between a side wail of the vehicle and an occupant seated in a normal posture in a vehicle seat. The auxiliary inflation portion is configured to be inflated in a seat back by the inflation gas from the inflator, thereby pushing the occupant toward an inner side of the vehicle. The restriction portion restricts the auxiliary inflation portion from being inflated toward a gap that is between the rear end section in the outer side portion of the seat back and the rear end section in the middle portion of the seat back.

  • Publication number: 20170250039
Abstract: To provide a gas circuit breaker having a space-saving reliable double motion mechanism having a high degree of freedom in design. A double motion mechanism section of the gas circuit breaker is formed of a drive-side connecting rod, a driven-side connecting rod, levers connecting them and a guide regulating operations of the drive-side connecting rod and the driven-side connecting rod. A movable pin is connected to a first grooved cam formed in the drive-side connecting rod, a second grooved cam formed in the guide and third grooved cams formed in the levers respectively, and posture holding members are provided in the movable pin. The movable pin moves in the respective grooved cams by an operation of the drive-side connecting rod, thereby rotating the levers, driving the driven-side connecting rod in an opposite direction of the drive-side connecting rod, and driving the driven-side arcing contact in an opposite direction of the driven-side arcing contact.
