Publication number: 20040014580Abstract: A printed paper web is cut into sections by a cutting cylinder while traveling on a folding cylinder, and each paper section has its midpart subsequently pushed off the folding cylinder into a jaw cavity in a jaw cylinder thereby to be folded into a signature. The jaw cavity has mounted therein a series of spaced-apart movable jaw parts jointly movable into and out of paper section-folding engagement with a series of spaced-apart fixed jaw parts. The folding cylinder has a retractable folding blade mounted thereto for pushing each paper section into space between the series of fixed and movable jaw parts. Fabricated from sheet metal, the folding blade has a series of discrete folding blade parts each having a portion that is situated out of register with both of the fixed and the movable jaw parts or with the image area of the paper section and which is thicker than the rest of the folding blade part.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 7, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Inventors: Mitsuo Kitai, Takashi Iijima, Takanobu Sakakura

Patent number: 6586922Abstract: Transistors (12a, 12b) turn on and off with mutually opposite phase input signals. Capacitors (16a, 16b) discharge when the transistors (12a, 12b) turn on, and capacitors (16a, 16b) are charged by constant current from constant current sources (18a, 18b) when the transistors (12a, 12b) turn off. As a result, a gradually rising voltage is obtained at the positive input ends of comparators (14a, 14b) while the input signals are L. By comparing this with fixed voltages of reference sources (20a, 20b), signals having rise timing shifted from input signals by 90° are obtained. The outputs of the comparators (14a, 14b) are mutually shifted by 180°, and at the rise of these outputs, an RS flip-flop (22) is set and reset so that signals delayed in phase by 90° with respect to the input signals are obtained at its outputs.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2001Date of Patent: July 1, 2003Assignee: Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takao Saeki, Hiroya Yamamoto, Takashi Iijima, Jun Suzuki, Masaki Kinoshita

Patent number: 5709147Abstract: Disclosed is an ink furnishing apparatus in a lithographic printing press with a keyless system which performs printing by furnishing a relatively high viscous ink and dampening water to printing plates on a plate cylinder. A first shearing force is exerted on the ink upon drawing out the ink deposited on a peripheral surface of a fountain roller through a first gap between an ink fountain and the peripheral surface of the fountain roller by rotation of the fountain roller, and a second shearing force is exerted on the ink due to a difference of peripheral speeds of the fountain roller and a first intermediate roller upon transition of the ink from the peripheral surface of the fountain roller to the peripheral surface of the first intermediate roller across a second gap between the peripheral surface of the fountain roller and the peripheral surface of the first intermediate roller, thus, water is separated from the ink.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1995Date of Patent: January 20, 1998Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokyo Kikai SeisakushoInventors: Yoshinori Uera, Taiichi Ichizawa, Kohji Yoshizawa, Takashi Iijima
