Publication number: 20110215653Abstract: An energization control apparatus includes a control portion, a disconnection detecting portion, and a prohibiting portion. The control portion controls energization to a plurality of loads coupled in parallel. The disconnection detecting portion repeatedly or continuously determines whether a supply current to the plurality of loads is less than a threshold value when the control portion energizes the plurality of loads, and the disconnection detecting portion detects a disconnection of a part of the plurality of loads when the supply current is less than the threshold value. The prohibiting portion prohibits a disconnection detection by the disconnection detecting portion for a predetermined period since the control portion starts to energize the plurality of loads, and the prohibiting portion enables the disconnection detection by the disconnection detecting portion after the predetermined period elapses.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2011Publication date: September 8, 2011Applicant: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Teruyuki Anjima, Masaaki Niwa, Hiroaki Ikenaga, Takashi Mizutani

Patent number: 7892308Abstract: A filling percentage of a central portion is larger than that of a peripheral portion at the inlet end surface of an exhaust gas of a honeycomb segment (2) constituting a ceramic filter due to additional filling (13). Thus, an amount of soot accumulated in vents (5) in the central portion of each honeycomb segment (2) is less relative to that in the peripheral portion. This decreases a quantity of heat generated by burning of soot in the central portion, and reduces temperature rise during recycling, thus limiting the maximum temperature of the ceramic filter (1).Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2004Date of Patent: February 22, 2011Assignee: NGK Insulators, Ltd.Inventor: Takashi Mizutani

A plurality of circulation holes 7 are formed in the honeycomb segment 2, and the cells are constituted as inlets and/or outlets of the circulation holes 7 and contain a plurality of honeycomb segments 2 bonded to one another. Each honeycomb segment 2 includes a first inflow holes 8, a second inflow holes 9, and as a part at least through-cells 10 formed to extend through in such a manner that fluid can be discharged from the inlet to the outlet of the cells without being plugged at the inlet and the outlet of the cell.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2010Publication date: October 14, 2010Applicant: NGK INSULATORS, LTD.Inventor: Takashi MIZUTANI

Publication number: 20100247400Abstract: The honeycomb filter 10 is constructed as a diesel particulate filter (DPF) having a filtration function for filtering out the PM (particulate matter) included in an exhaust emission of a diesel engine. The honeycomb filter 10 has a honeycomb structure 12 as a base and inlet opening cells 16 with surface layers 26 formed on respective inner surfaces thereof. The surface layer 26 has zero film thickness in an inlet peripheral region 28. Separation vortexes are generated in the inlet peripheral regions 28. The zero film thickness of the surface layers 26 in the inlet peripheral regions 28 naturally causes non-flaking of the surface layers 26 induced by the separation vortexes generated in the inlet peripheral regions 28 and thereby leads to non-production of flakes. In the non-existent condition of flakes, the overall surface layers 26 are not collapsed by collision of the flakes.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2010Publication date: September 30, 2010Applicant: NGK Insulators, Ltd.Inventors: Shingo TOKUDA, Takashi MIZUTANI
