  • Patent number: 7236259
Abstract: To facilitate the use of portable digital devices such as cell phones, printer processing stations are proposed for printing the information that is accessible through the portable digital devices. In general, the portable digital devices have easy access to an enormous amount of information but are equipped with a relatively small display screen without an on-board printing capability. To solve the above dilemma, readily available printer stations allow the user to print a selectable portion of the information at one of the predetermined locations and conveniently charge the user for a print fee.

  • Publication number: 20070082225
Abstract: A method for preserving an organic polymeric material, wherein an organic polymeric material which exhibits strong acidity is preserved with it being dissolved or dispersed in a liquid mainly comprised of water, the method is characterized in that the organic polymeric material is preserved with it being dissolved or dispersed in the liquid so that a concentration thereof is 2 wt %, and a pH (at 25° C.) of the thus obtained liquid is measured and then adjusted so as to be to be higher than the measured pH (at 25° C.). Further, it is preferred that a pH (25° C.) of the liquid before the pH adjustment is 2.2 or lower and a pH (25° C.) of the liquid after the pH adjustment is in the range of 2.5 to 7.5. According to this, even if the organic polymeric material is preserved for a long period of time, it is possible to prevent or reduce a change in a molecular structure thereof with the lapse of time.

  • Publication number: 20070077449
Abstract: In an organic EL device, when a voltage is applied across an anode and a cathode, holes are moved in a hole transport layer and electrons are moved in an electron transport layer, and the holes and the electrons are recombined in a light emitting layer. In the light emitting layer, excitons are produced by energy released upon the recombination, and the excitons release energy in the form of fluorescence or emit light when returning to the ground state. The hole transport layer is formed from a hole transport material, in which the amount of nonionic impurities having a molecular weight of 5,000 or less, or the amounts of anionic impurities, cationic impurities and nonionic impurities having a molecular weight of 5,000 or less is or are adjusted to be small, so that the decrease of light-emission luminance of the organic EL device is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 6242693
Abstract: An overhead power transmission line formed by stranding at least one outwardly projecting strand at the outermost layer of an overhead power transmission line formed by a plurality of strands. At least the outwardly projecting portion of the outwardly projecting strand is composed of an organic material. The outwardly projecting strand has a projection height H within a range defined as 1.5 mm≦H≦7.0 mm. By setting the projection height H of the outwardly projecting strand equal to or larger than 1.5 mm, the wind noise characteristic can be conspicuously improved. Further, by setting H≦7.0 mm, the outwardly projecting strand comprised by an organic material is made easily crushable, so the gripping portions of spacers, dampers, and other parts which have been conventionally used can be used as they are.

  • Patent number: 6147712
Abstract: A format converter has a memory capable of storing a video signal of progressive or interlaced scan construction and having one of a plurality of video data sizes and one of a plurality of frame rates, a frame rate controller using the memory to control a frame rate of the video signal, and a conversion filter for converting a video data size of the video signal. With the above configuration, conversion of the signal is effected without losing or detracting the features of the source material of the video signal. The conversion of the video data size is preferably effected on the output having the frame rate adjusted. With the above configuration, the format of a video signal can be converted without degrading the quality of the input video signal, and at the same time the required memory capacity can be reduced.
