  • Patent number: 7719524
Abstract: A pointing device is placed in a through hole provided on an outer case of the portable information terminal. The terminal includes a fingerplate attached to a through hole via a hinge; an image pick-up element placed on a circuit board; a condensing lens that forms an image on an outer surface of the fingerplate on an image pick-up plane of the image pick-up element; and a light emitting device that irradiates the outer surface of the fingerplate with illumination light, and takes the image of a pattern such as a fingerprint that touches the outer surface of the fingerplate by using the image pick-up element. When the fingertip moves, the image taken by the image pick-up element changes and the pointer displayed on a display screen is moved in a direction according to the movement of the fingertip.

  • Publication number: 20080218854
Abstract: A mirror is provided on flat side surfaces of a polygonal conic surface, respectively, to form a polygon mirror. Moreover, in a flat panel display, planar real images are displayed facing the respective mirrors of this polygon mirror, and these planar real images are arrayed in a ring shape about the center axis of the polygonal conic surface to form an image ring. An observer can view such planar real image via the mirror facing thereto. Here, each planar real image of the image ring is an image of the same object viewed from a different direction, and the angle of inclination and the like of the polygonal conic surface is set so that all the mirror images of such planar real images by the mirrors are produced at the center axis of the polygonal conic surface.

  • Publication number: 20080068343
Abstract: A pin matrix having a plurality of pins disposed in a matrix pattern is mounted on a display unit disposed on an upper surface of a dot figure display main body in the housing of a dot figure display apparatus. As pins are driven, a dot figure capable of being touched and sensed is displayed. Infrared rays are irradiated from an infrared LED to the pin matrix. A video camera receives infrared rays reflected from a recursive reflection marker attached to a main finger tip to detect the position of the main finger tip on the pin matrix. A pressure sensor is mounted at each corner of the dot figure display main body. A pressure barycenter position and a press force relative to the pin matrix are calculated from a pressure detected with each pressure sensor. The manipulation state of the pin matrix is judged from the main finger tip touch position, pressure barycenter position and press force.

  • Publication number: 20080055087
Abstract: The prior art in this field had a display portion of electronic paper at a part of a shelf and showed a problem that the display portion and the goods were hardly co-related to each other in response to an arrangement of the goods. In addition, it was necessary to prepare a special display substrate for changing all the shelf lengths into a display portion and its price was expensive. It was necessary to provide a signal line and a wiring for power supply up to the display portion and so it was necessary to perform a wiring at the shelf surface with opaque raw material or perform a connecting work for the wiring every time when the shelf was transferred.

  • Publication number: 20080036969
Abstract: A display apparatus and an imaging apparatus constructed such that a high-resolution clear three-dimensional video image can be viewed from any direction. The display apparatus projects frame images, projected from a projector such as an electronic projector, to a video image projection surface of a three-dimensional screen through a polygonal mirror provided around the three-dimensional screen, thereby providing a polyhedral video image such as a three-dimensional image to a person viewing from around the video image projection surface. The three-dimensional screen has a view field angle limiting filter and a directional reflection screen. The view field angle filter limits the angle of a view field in the left/right direction, the angle being the angle of the projection on the video image projection surface (50) of the screen. The directional reflection screen has two sheets in horizontal and vertical directions.

  • Patent number: 7312791
Abstract: There is provided a display unit including a touch panel disposed on a display screen of a display panel to detect a touch position of a pointing device, operation being conducted by touching a touch operation member displayed on the screen. The display unit includes a sensor for sensing a pushing pressure caused when touching the touch operation member, and a control section for conducting first processing concerning the touch operation member pushed by the pointing device when the pressure sensed by the sensing unit satisfies a first predetermined pressure condition, and conducting second processing concerning the touch operation member, when the pushing pressure has changed from the first condition to a second one. Upon the change from the first condition to the second one, a function of moving the screen in a direction of pushing pressure caused by the pointer is executed by the second processing.

  • Publication number: 20070232224
Abstract: In a digital broadcast receiver, program videos of digital broadcasts are switched with ease of use, and quickly displayed. A digital broadcast receiver receives digital broadcasts and processes data contained in the broadcasts to display program videos. The digital broadcast receiver includes: a tuner part having a first tuner and a second tuner; a display part; an input part; and a control part. The input part generates a first operation signal when operation buttons are touched, and generates a second operation signal when the operation buttons are pushed. The control part starts the reception of a program corresponding to the first operation signal by the second tuner when detecting the first operation signal during the display of a program video being received over the first tuner, and when detecting the second operation signal, switches to the display of a program video being received over the second tuner.
