  • Patent number: 5398172
Abstract: A lighting device for a vehicle includes a housing, an inner lens molded of a transparent colored material that is fitted to an opening portion of the housing; and an outer lens molded of a transparent colorless material; and a left-hand inner wall surface of the housing is dimensioned to have a length different from that of a right-hand inner wall surface of the housing. To prevent the presence of a colorless part of the inner wall surface from appearing to have a longer length, the foregoing colorless part of the inner wall surface is covered with an extension portion of the inner lens which comes in close contact with the inner wall surface. To improve the appearance of the lighting device, all surfaces associated with the inner lens, such as a part of the inner wall surface having a greater dimension a lower inner wall surface; and an upper inner wall surface are coated with the surface material that corresponds with a material coated on the extension portion of the inner lens.

  • Patent number: 5153945
Abstract: A head of a wearer is covered by a hood to protect the head from rain or snow. The hood comprises a hood body formed of an outer sheet and an inner sheet bonded together to form a space therebetween. When air is inflated into the space, the hood body enlarges to form a solid shape over the entire hood body. An edge portion is formed around a front opening of the hood body. The edge portion, in use, expands outwardly to allow water on the hood body to flow along the edge portion without crossing the front opening. At least one air passage device is attached to the hood body to allow air blown into the hood to pass or escape therethrough. When the air passage devices are formed near ears of the wearer, the air passage devices help audibility.

  • Patent number: 5052122
Abstract: A process is described for continuously drying a paste material for a high-density detergent in a drying apparatus comprising a cylindrical casing and one or more sheet blades radially attached to a rotational shaft positioned at the center of the cylindrical casing such that the tip of each of the one or more sheet blades extends to the inner wall of the cylindrical casing, comprising the steps of feeding a paste material for a high-density detergent having a moisture content of from 20 to 35% by weight into the drying apparatus; forming a film of the paste material on the inner wall of the cylindrical casing by rotating the sheet blades; and scraping the film from the inner wall of the casing while continuously dehydrating and drying the film by heating under vacuum. The process of the invention conserves space and energy in drying the paste material for a high-density detergent.

  • Patent number: 4840241
Abstract: A coin scale for measuring weight of a mailing material comprises a scale section and a base section situated under the scale section. The scale section includes an elongated arm, a coin receiving member formed at one end of the arm, a mail receiving member formed at the other end of the arm, and a first supporting device situated between the coin receiving member and the mail receiving member. The first supporting device is provided with a plurality of supporting points. The base section include a stand and a second supporting device formed on the stand. The second supporting device rotatably engages one of the supporting points and supports the arm as a fulcrum of a balance. In at least one supporting point, weight at the mail receiving member increases step by step corresponding to the particular weight zone of a mailing material as one coin is added in the coin receiving member.
