  • Patent number: 7218348
Abstract: An object is to prevent a false signal from being generated. In a CCD comprising a lot of photodiodes, vertical transfer paths, and a horizontal transfer path, signal charges respectively representing R, G and B color components are mixed in the horizontal transfer path. Therefore, readout of the signal charges inputted to the horizontal transfer path from the photodiodes is controlled such that the order of the color components respectively represented by the signal charges is a repetition of R, G, B and G and a repetition of B, G, R and G in every other row. When complementary colors are generated by mixing pixels in the horizontal transfer path, they differ even in the same column, thereby making it possible to prevent a false signal from being generated.

  • Publication number: 20070040194
Abstract: A CCD image sensor includes photodiodes, vertical transfer CCDs for transferal of signal charge of the photodiodes, and a light shielding layer for protection of the vertical transfer CCDs from light. The light shielding layer covers over recesses disposed above the photodiodes, and each of the recesses has an opening on the bottom to expose a light receiving surface of the photodiode. A light diffusion layer is formed on the light shielding layer in each recess. Since the incident light oblique to an optical axis of a microlens is diffused by the light diffusion layer, the vertical CCDs hardly receive the light coming from around the edges of the opening.

  • Publication number: 20060283961
Abstract: On a wafer coated with photosensitizing agent, plural shots of exposure are applied through a mask including a plurality of reticles each of which has a circuit pattern and a top surface identification information, while the mask and the wafer are relatively moved. Then the wafer is developed and etched to form convex or concave reticle numbers (top surface identification information) on a metal layer which is the uppermost part or a part close to the uppermost part of the wafer. The reticle numbers enables to distinguish each of reticles on the mask. Next, an under surface identification information is recorded on an under surface of the wafer by laser marking or another method. The under surface identification information enables to distinguish each of the shots of exposure.

  • Publication number: 20060279648
Abstract: An imaging device includes an image sensor chip and a package for containing the image sensor chip. Formed in the package is a vent hole that is connected to an air pump. In a light receiving area of the image sensor chip, there are photodiodes and microlenses above them. The microlenses are made of a gel-like transparent material. When the internal air pressure of the package is changed by the air pump, each microlens transforms in response to the change of the internal air pressure, and thereby changes the surface curvature thereof.
