    Abstract: The present disclosure provides signaling for user equipment (UE) panel identification. The UE may have at least a first panel and a second panel. The UE may receive at least one downlink reference signal from a base station. The UE may determine a first mapping of the at least one downlink reference signal to one or more panel identifiers. The UE may receive a configuration of an uplink reference signal resource. Based on the configuration, the UE may transmit an uplink reference signal using a selected panel, the selected panel being associated with a selected panel identifier. The UE may transmit a report including a second mapping between the selected panel identifier and the uplink reference signal. The UE may receive an uplink grant indicating the selected panel associated with the selected panel identifier. The UE may transmit an uplink data channel using the selected panel.

    Abstract: A transmitter, such as a base station, identifies a potential collision between a first set of resources configured for a CORESET for a receiver and a second set of resources configured for a PT-RS for the receiver. The apparatus may determine whether colliding resources in the CORESET are configured/used for a control transmission or a data transmission. The apparatus punctures the PT-RS based on whether the colliding resources in the CORESET are configured/used for the control transmission (e.g., PDCCH). For example, the apparatus may puncture the PT-RS only for resource blocks of the CORESET colliding with the control transmission without puncturing the PT-RS over an entire set of the colliding resources configured for the CORESET. A receiver may similarly identify potential collisions and determine whether PT-RS will be punctured based on whether the colliding resources in the CORESET are configured/used for a control transmission or a data transmission.

The MPUE may receive from the base station, a downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a communication for at least one of the number of active panels. The MPUE may communicate according to the DCI using the at least one panel scheduled by the DCI. In another aspect, the MPUE may indicate a nominal number of active panels and implicitly manage a mapping of panel identifiers to an actual number of active panels.

The method also includes transmitting a first signal to the BS, the first signal comprising a request to change the first beam pair. A User Equipment (UE) may receive a Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) from a neighboring UE. The UE may determine from the SRS that the UE is a good candidate for a direct link. The UE may also determine from the SRS an ID associated with the neighboring UE. The UE may send a direct link request to the UE serving gNB. The serving gNB may forward the request to a gNB serving the neighboring UE. The gNBs may negotiate a joint schedule for a beam a UE to UE beam search. The beam search may be conducted using SRS resources. The results of the beam search may be sent to the gNB and the gNB may determine a beam pair for a direct link.

The BFRQ message can include a candidate recovery beam for the first cell. The UE can receive a BFRR message on the second cell and determine a duration from reception of the BFRR message until using a default beam for communications on the first cell.
