Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for generating realistic network traffic by replaying captured network traffic using parallelized streams of subtraces. In accordance with one method of the invention, a captured trace of network traffic from a network link is provided. The captured trace is split into a number of subtraces. The subtraces are replayed and then recombined into a recombined trace, wherein the timing of packets in the recombined trace approximates the timing of packets in the captured trace.

Abstract: A system and method are provided to generate knowledge-based radiological report information via an ontology driven graphical user interface. Even further, a system and method are provided that employ radiological report domain ontology to specify and model a graphical user interface knowledge that is used by the present invention to create a graphical user interface and then to exercise the graphical user interface to generate knowledge-based radiological report information.

Abstract: Tunable impedance matching networks and tunable diplexer matching systems are provided. A tunable impedance matching network can include an impedance element connected between first and second nodes for communicating signals between the first and second nodes. For example, the impedance element can be a transmission line or an inductor. Further, the matching network can include a first capacitor connected in parallel with the impedance element, wherein the first capacitor is tunable. The matching network can also include a second capacitor comprising first and second terminals. The first terminal of the second capacitor can be connected to the first node. The second terminal of the second capacitor can be connected to a local voltage reference for the first node. A third capacitor comprises first and second terminals. The first terminal of the second capacitor can be connected to the second node. The second and third capacitors can also be tunable.

Abstract: A system and a method for detecting port scanning activities on a computer network. A probability variable is assigned to a device on a computer network. The probability variable indicates the probability that the device is conducting port-scanning activities. Data describing transmissions by the device during multiple intervals of time is accessed, and, for each of the time intervals, a determination is made concerning whether or not the device conducted port-scanning activities. Based on these determinations, the probability variable is updated for each of the time intervals.

Abstract: The present invention describes methods, systems, and data structures to create and search index records within a trace of a packet-based communications link that has been compressed by organizing the data packets according to which flow they belong. Index points are inserted within the compressed flow trace file to create frames and index records are created and saved for each index point. Consequently, searching for a particular data packet does not require sequentially reading the compressed flow trace file, but rather locating the appropriate index record and its corresponding frame in the compressed flow trace file.

Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there are provided systems for detecting hybridization of nucleic acids using electrochemical methods having improved sensitivity. Such systems include an electrode having a variably charged oligonucleotide probe and a redox probe. In some embodiments, the systems may further include a binding nexus having an immobilized reporter oligonucleotide probe, which hybridizes to a target nucleic acid sequence. The reporter oligonucleotide probe may be naturally charged, uncharged, or either partially negatively or positively charged. Further provided are methods for detecting the presence of a nucleic acid sequence of interest in a sample.

A metallized serpentine region extends from the resonator pad on the bottom surface toward a side surface of the core. The metallized serpentine region causes attenuation of a third harmonic frequency.

Abstract: Through the association of an IP address with each data stream, a single system may be used by a network card or a tuner to select multicast IP data. Each data stream is identified by a unique IP address. More particularly, a locator adapted for identifying a data stream is associated with one of a plurality of data streams. The locator is then mapped to an IP address. When it is determined that the IP address corresponds to a data stream locator associated with a data stream, a tuner is instructed to read the data stream associated with the data stream locator. However, when it is determined that the IP address does not correspond to a data stream locator, a network card identified by the IP address is instructed to read data from the associated network. Since each data stream may be associated with a plurality of multicast IP addresses, a multicast group address is specified to identify the appropriate multicast IP data transmitted in the data stream.

The source region is then translated to a location within the destination coordinate system equivalent to the destination location in the source coordinate system.
