    Abstract: An electrical connector for electrically connecting a chip module to a circuit board includes an insulating body having stopping portions, terminals and solder balls. Each stopping portion is located above the solder balls, and has a bottom surface coated with an adhesive. Each terminal includes a connecting portion and two clamping portions extending and bending from two opposite sides of the connecting portion along a horizontal direction. The solder balls are in contact with the terminals and the circuit board, and each corresponds to one of the stopping portions, is adhered to the stopping portion via the adhesive, and is clamped by the two clamping portions and the connecting portion, or by the two clamping portions and the insulating body.

A first signal terminal is fixedly provided on the base and exposed to the surface of the tongue. A metal shell is sleeved over the base and the tongue to form an insertion space between the metal shell and the tongue. The mating connector includes a plastic seat body. A second signal terminal is fixedly provided on the plastic seat body and extending into a mating space. A grounding elastic member is fixedly provided on a wall portion and exposed to the mating space. In the first mating state, the second signal terminal is not in contact with the first signal terminal. In the second mating state, and the second signal terminal is in contact with the first signal terminal.

A width of the first middle hole along a transverse direction is greater than that of at least one USB 2.0 terminal. The first middle hole is located between the USB 2.0 terminals in the upper and lower rows. The middle shielding sheet has first holes respectively at two transverse sides of the central line. A front edge of the first middle hole extends forward beyond a rear edge of the first holes. The length of the first middle hole along the front-rear direction is shorter than that of each first hole.

When the chip module presses the terminal downward, a side edge of the elastic arm abuts the flat plate portion. The structure of an elastic arm can be simplified to reduce the processing difficulty thereof.

When the chip module presses the upper elastic arm downward, the upper and lower elastic arms abut each other, the abutting position is located above or below the intersection area.

Further, an insulating body of a connector is provided. The insulating body is symmetrically disposed about a center line thereof, and a first gate and a second gate located on two opposite sides of the center line are asymmetrically disposed in one end of the insulating body. By providing the first and second gates with different areas, the areas of the two injection gates that allow molten plastic to enter a cavity in the mold for molding the insulating body will be changed. Alternatively, by providing the first and second gates asymmetrically about the center line, the lengths of the flow channel paths from the two injection gates to each part of the insulating body are different.
