  • Patent number: 5823614
Abstract: A reclining furniture item including a reclining mechanism employing a roller and track system which significantly reduce the number of linkages and provide a zero or near zero wall proximity feature. Various embodiments are contemplated which include a moveable seat link mounted on rollers which move along angled track sections. These rollers form the major connection made between the moveable seat link and the stationary base member. At least one of the tracks is formed with two angled sections. The first angled section is sloped downwardly from rear to front and the second section is sloped upwardly from rear to front. Backrest linkage is also provided for allowing angling of the backrest with respect to the seat during reclining movement. Footrest linkage is connected to the front of the mechanism for extension and retraction in moving between a fully upright and a reclined T.V. position.

  • Patent number: 5806690
Abstract: The display apparatus herein includes a length adjustable track upon which a spring biased movable plate travels. A friction lock is provided to secure the track at selected lengths and is incorporated into stacking supports for interconnecting an array of display units.

  • Patent number: 5671851
Abstract: This product display apparatus includes a moveable backing plate arranged to ride on a mounting rod behind product suspended from a parallel display rod, and employs a coil spring bias to urge the backing plate forwardly. The backing plate includes an engaging hook to extend through a slot and to catch onto a locking edge for holding the plate at the rear while the display is loaded. A close tolerance mounting hole on the plate and a narrow slot forming the locking edge constrains an operator to unload packages from the display rod before restocking.

  • Patent number: 5527092
Abstract: A modular furniture seating section having a pair of side rails that define a base for the section and a pair of reclining mechanisms, one mounted on each of the side rails. Each of the mechanisms includes a seat mounting link which together carry a seat frame that in turn carries the seat of the chair. An ottoman linkage is mounted on the front of the seat mounting link in each mechanism and together they carry the ottoman which moves between retracted and extended positions. The mechanisms also include a backrest linkage which carries the backrest frame that, in turn, carries the backrest. On one side only of the chair an arm panel is secured to the seat frame and moves together with the seat in fixed relationship thereto as the chair moves between upright and reclined positions. On the same side as the arm panel, a backrest side wing is mounted on the backrest frame so as to move with it.

  • Patent number: 5450969
Abstract: This display includes a backing plate arranged to ride on a track, and employs a coil spring bias to urge the backing plate toward the forward edge of the display. The backing plate includes a slot engaging groove to ride the track under the spring bias and to limit rearward motion. At the rear of the display, the track exhibits a locking edge which engages the plate member to hold the plate at the rear while the display is loaded.

  • Patent number: 5208077
Abstract: A composite material, particularly useful for prestressing concrete and in stay cables for cable-stayed bridges and other such uses where strength, corrosion resistance and resistance to fatigue failure are particularly important, comprises high strength wire strand coated and impregnated with an impermeable and strongly adherent epoxy based resin. The impregnated and coated epoxy increases the flexural stiffness of the composite against bending fatigue in the areas of the anchorages in dynamically loaded situations and reduces relative movement and rubbing of the wires of the strand so as to reduce fretting and hence fretting fatigue, the principal mechanism for failure in dynamically loaded strand.
