  • Patent number: 6817561
Abstract: At both sides of an opening (14) of a cassette case (10a), there are formed tape guides (18) having guide faces (18a), and a magnetic tape (T) is stretched between the guide faces (18a). On back faces (18b) of the guide faces (18a) of the tape guides (18), are formed cam grooves (26) for guiding an open/close lid (320) which covers the stretched magnetic tape (T). In lower parts of the back faces (18b) and backward of the cam grooves (26), there are formed projections (28) provided with position detecting holes (28a). Molding sink preventive recesses are formed only at positions on the back faces (18b) forward of the cam grooves (26) and above the projections (28).

  • Patent number: 6804084
Abstract: In a magnetic tape cassette, a top end portion of a reel urging plate spring for urging a tape reel is subjected to a surface treatment to prevent from a friction. A distance between a couple of flanges of the tape reel is selected to keep a form of the wound magnetic tape, and to prevent the tape running from being disturbed by the increase of a contact resistance of the tape edges to the flanges. Additionally, positioning portions for positioning the magnetic tape cassette relative to a magnetic tape drive device are formed of a differential resin from the resin of the remaining part of the cassette case. Additionally, at least one of both end faces of each guide roller is surface treated so that the end face is not worn through its contact with the cassette half. Further, an information presenting section for displaying variable information is provided at a location other than label areas of the tape cassette.

  • Patent number: 6719232
Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette includes an ID board for enabling a hardware to identify the magnetic tape by bringing contacts on a circuit board of the ID board which are exposed through an opening formed in a lower cassette half into contact with corresponding contacts in the hardware. Additionally, a plating treatment is provided on the contacts on the ID board. Further, a determined distance is secured between all end portions of the parts of the circuit board. Which are provided with the plating treatment, and the end faces of the circuit board. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, the determined distance of the ID boards at a forward position in a moving direction of the magnetic tape cassette at which the contacts on the ID board are adapted to slidably contact with the contacts in the hardware is set to be 0.05-0.25 mm.

  • Publication number: 20030206371
Abstract: A recording tape cassette which accommodates a reel on which a recording tape is wound. A lock member for locking the reel is rotatably attached at an inner face of a case of the recording tape cassette. The lock member is urged to a reel side thereof, and engages with a gear which is formed at a peripheral edge of a flange of the reel. A guide surface is formed at the lock member such that, at a time when the reel is inserted into the case, the lock member is pushed by the reel and consequently is withdrawn in a direction of releasing locking of the gear. With this structure, an operation of insertion of the reel can be carried out easily, and work efficiency can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20030174443
Abstract: A recording tape cassette has a case formed from an upper case and a lower case, and in which a reel, on which a recording tape is wound, is accommodated; a shaft standing erect at the lower case; a guide roller fit with play at the shaft; and a holding hole provided at the upper case, and into which a distal end of the shaft is inserted with play. The holding hole has a guide surface which, when the case deforms, makes the distal end of the shaft move in a predetermined direction. In accordance with the recording tape cassette, conveying stability of the recording tape trained around on the guide roller can be ensured.

  • Patent number: 6515828
Abstract: The magnetic tape cassette comprises a reel, a cassette half (4), a reel locking member (45) and a rib (6a or 6b). The reel on which the magnetic tape is wound turns on a predetermined track and has engaging teeth at its periphery. The cassette half has a reel accommodating area which can accommodate various kinds of reels which are different from one another. The reel lock member is disposed on the cassette half and has an engagement pawl. The reel lock member is slidable between a reel lock position where the engagement pawl of the reel lock member is engaged with the engaging teeth of the reel so as to inhibit a rotation of the reel and a releasing position where the reel lock member disengages from the engaging teeth of the reels so as to allow the rotation of the reel. The rib disposed on the cassette half keeps a locking condition, i.e., where the engagement pawl is engaged with the engaging teeth, when the reel leaves the predetermined tracks.

  • Publication number: 20030009885
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a roller includes: forming a hollow cylindrical body that includes a fully solidified outer peripheral surface and a semi-solidified interior, with an inner peripheral surface swelling inwardly; and pressing the swollen portion of the inner peripheral surface outwardly by pulling an insert die from the semi-solidified cylindrical body, to thereby allow the outer periphery of the cylindrical body to swell outwardly in a barrel-like manner. A primary molded product including a through hole along a central axis is thereby formed, and a secondary resin is injected into the through hole of the primary molded product.
