  • Patent number: 6407887
Abstract: The hook 2a of a lid lock 2 is urged by a spring 48 so that an outer lid 41 integral with the lid lock pawl 45 is locked closed. At that time, the hook 2a is abutted against the side surface of a lid lock pawl 45 which formed in the side board of an outer lid 41. In the case where an impact is applied to the magnetic tape cassette, the impact force is absorbed by the side surface of the lid lock pawl 45 and the lid lock 2. At that time, an arcuate surface 2b confronting with the end portion of the lid lockpawl 45 prevents the end portion 45a of the lid lock pawl 45 from being collapsed or rolled up. Accordingly, the occurrence of troubles such as the deterioration in function of the lock mechanism, and the biting of the magnetic tape is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20020044383
Abstract: In a magnetic tape cassette, a top end portion of a reel urging plate spring for urging a tape reel is subjected to a surface treatment to prevent from a friction. A distance between a couple of flanges of the tape reel is selected to keep a form of the wound magnetic tape, and to prevent the tape running from being disturbed by the increase of a contact resistance of the tape edges to the flanges. Additionally, positioning portions for positioning the magnetic tape cassette relative to a magnetic tape drive device are formed of a differential resin from the resin of the remaining part of the cassette case. Additionally, at least one of both end faces of each guide roller is surface treated so that the end face is not worn through its contact with the cassette half. Further, an information presenting section for displaying variable information is provided at a location other than label areas of the tape cassette.

  • Publication number: 20010040855
Abstract: The recording medium cartridge includes a cartridge case containing a recording medium and a noncontact-type memory having an IC section for storing information and performing signal processing and an antenna section for transmitting and receiving signals. In one cartridge, the antenna section of the memory is placed in a region furtherest from metallic parts. In other cartridge, the memory is mounted in an accommodation portion recessed one step relative to a surrounding portion, in such a way that a portion of an inner wall of a real area for accommodating a magnetic tape corresponding to the recording medium is formed, in such a position as to be exposed when the cartridge is loaded into a drive, or in recess formed in an outer surface of a case. The cartridge label is attached to the cartridge and contains the noncontact-type memory.

  • Patent number: 5785176
Abstract: A cassette accommodating case in which a tape cassette can be inserted in either a forward or backward orientation, and for preventing slackening of a magnetic tape, and to secure the tape cassette to eliminate play. Positioning projections having inclined surfaces are provided on each side of a casing section. When the casing section and a cover section are closed, the inclined surfaces abut against the ends of side projections on side surfaces of the tape cassette to push the tape cassette when the casing and cover sections are closed. A rotation-preventing projection of an accommodating case protrudes into a common area of the hubs when a cassette is loaded in the forward and backward orientations, and the projection includes two plate-like portions of different heights, disposed in parallel, and with a predetermined interval therebetween. A distal end of the long plate-like portion has a guiding inclined surface for correcting the positional offset of the hub by contacting its inner peripheral surface.

  • Patent number: 5782355
Abstract: A cassette case which allows positioning and fixing of a hub without biting of a hub pawl, and enhances the convenience with which the case is used. A plate-like portion comes at its edge into contact with a corner of a peak of a hub pawl without the plate-like portions of the projection coming at their edges into engagement with the hub pawl when a cover section of a storage case has been closed relative to a casing section. The sum of pushing forces exerted on the hub pawl by the plate-like portion causes the hub to rotate to thereby introduce the hub pawl into a space formed between the plate-like portions. In order to carry out the above-mentioned operation, the plate-like portion is designed to have an edge extending in a direction from a front to a rear, and vice versa, of a magnetic tape cassette to be encased in the storage case, and the plate-like portion is designed to have an edge making a predetermined angle with the above-mentioned direction.

  • Patent number: 5662854
Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette accommodating case has a cover member having a pocket for receiving one end portion of a magnetic tape cassette and a casing member having rotation stopper projections. At least (a) peripheral portions of the cover member and the casing member, which edge portions confront at least the thickened portion of the magnetic tape cassette, and (b) side wall portions of the cover member and the casing member, the side wall portions including the pivotably assembled portions, are molded with a resin, which is more slidable than the other portions of the cover member and the casing member. The other portions are molded with such a transparent resin as to allow the case to be seen through. A method for manufacturing such a magnetic tape cassette accommodating cage utilizes a first slide core slidable in a direction of inserting a cassette, and a second slide core movable substantially orthogonal to the direction of moving the first slide core.
