  • Patent number: 9050536
Abstract: A communication game system includes a plurality of game apparatuses which are able to wirelessly communicate with each other. Each of the game apparatus registers identifying information of an opponent obtained by a short-distance wireless communication or by user's manual input in a friend list. Thereafter, the game apparatus connects to the Internet, and inquires whether it is possible to communicate with an opponent in the friend list over the network. If it is possible to communicate, the game apparatus obtains an address of the opponent to make a network communication. Even if a user makes a short distance wireless communication with a friend to exchange and register the identifying information or registers the friend by hand and then is parted from the friend, the user can safely communicate with the friend across the network without being exposed to unknown players.

  • Patent number: 8611614
Abstract: An image taking unit including a lens array, a light shielding member, and an image taking unit that acquires a compound eye image of a vein pattern of a living body held at a lens array. A shift estimation unit estimates an image shift amount between ommatidium images of the compound eye image. An image restructuring unit restructures a single image from the compound eye image by using the image shift amount. In at least one embodiment, a size correction unit corrects the size of the restructured single image with a magnification ratio determined by the estimated image shift amount and an image shift amount stored in a registration pattern storage unit so as to correspond to a registration pattern. As a result, it is possible to perform personal authentication while compensating influences due to fluctuations in a subject distance.

  • Patent number: 8552987
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a display and a touch panel provided thereon. A CPU core causes the display to display an input screen (image) that has a keyboard image including a plurality of key patterns and an input area formed on each of the key patterns. By touching some of the key patterns, moving a stick or like to the input area while keeping it in a touch-on state and then performing a touch-off from the key pattern, a character graphic for the key pattern can be input (dragged) to a coordinate position in the input area just before the touch-off; however, by touching some of the key patterns and then performing a touch-off from the key pattern, a character graphic for the key pattern is input to a predetermined position in the input area.

  • Publication number: 20120293494
Abstract: In a display control apparatus, a first content obtained from a server device is planarly displayed on a screen. When an operation to display a second content is detected, the second content is obtained from the server device. In the display control apparatus, it is determined whether or not the second content thus obtained is a stereoscopically viewable image. When the result of the determination is positive, the stereoscopically viewable image as the second content is stereoscopically displayed on the screen.
