  • Publication number: 20220382546
Abstract: The mask data corresponding to each data element of the issued instruction may be handled by a mask queue, where only the valid mask data are stored to the mask queue. The mask data of multiple vector instructions may be stored in the mask queue. The corresponding mask data may be accessed from the mask queue when the vector instruction(s) is dispatched from the execution queue to the functional unit for execution. In the case of 512-bit wide mask data is needed, the issuing of the vector instruction from the decode/issue unit to the execution queue may be stalled until the mask queue is available. In some embodiments, one mask queue may be dedicated to one execution queue. Alternatively, one mask queue may be shared between two different execution queues. In the disclosure, resources are conserved without dedicating additional storage space for handling mask data of the vector instruction.

  • Publication number: 20220382742
Abstract: An online system, such as a multi-tenant system ensures high availability of systems, for example, database management systems. The online system replicates the databases across multiple datacenters including: (1) a master node that receives read and write requests (2) a read-replica that receives only read requests and (3) a spare node that does not receive requests but acts as standby for high availability. One or more application servers may send read and write requests to the databases. The system performs a sweep of upgrades of the database nodes and also performs traffic quiescing of the requests received from the application servers to redirect the traffic across the database nodes as the upgrade sweep is orchestrated. The sweep of upgrades ensures that the availability of the database management system to the end users is maximized during the upgrade process.

  • Publication number: 20220365915
Abstract: A system, for example, a multi-tenant system performs upgrades of database management systems deployed on a cloud platform. The database management system is stored on the cloud platform in a data storage unit for storing data of the database, and an instructions storage unit for storing executable instructions. A cloud platform image comprising instructions for the database management system is received. A cloud platform image is deployed on a new instructions storage unit. An upgraded database management system is built by providing the new instructions storage unit with access to the data storage unit. In an embodiment, the database management system is used by a multi-tenant system and stores a multi-tenant schema. The structure of the multi-tenant schema is defined using a multi-tenant schema template that is included in the instructions storage unit.

  • Patent number: 11501168
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for structuring and training a recurrent neural network. This describes a technique that improves the ability to capture long term dependencies in recurrent neural networks by adding an unsupervised auxiliary loss at one or more anchor points to the original objective. This auxiliary loss forces the network to either reconstruct previous events or predict next events in a sequence, making truncated backpropagation feasible for long sequences and also improving full backpropagation through time.

  • Publication number: 20220335172
Abstract: The present approach automatically generates an optimized building façade design given a set of building design parameters including a specified interior layout. The generated building façade design comprises a set of MegaPanels that are then displayed to the building designer for review and facilitate customization as desired by the façade designer. Some or all of this process can then be repeated when building design parameters are changed thereby facilitating automated and iterative building façade design as differing design parameters and resulting optimized building façade designs are considered.

  • Publication number: 20220300841
Abstract: An agent interfaces with a sending computing device and a receiving computing device to automatically adjust one-way or two-way real-time audio and real-time video transmission parameters responsive to changing network conditions and/or application requirements. The agent incorporates a reinforcement learning model that adjusts transmission parameters to maximize an expected value of a sum of future rewards; the expected value of the sum of future rewards is based on a current state of the sending computing, a current action (e.g. a current set of transmission parameters) at the sending computing device and a reward provided by the receiving computing device. The reward is representative of a user-perceived quality of experience at the receiving computing device.
