Abstract: The present invention is directed to a hearing aid which includes a lateral ear canal assembly and a medial ear canal assembly. In embodiments of the invention the medial ear canal assembly may include smart circuitry adapted to control parameters and outputs of the medial ear canal assembly. In embodiments of the invention various methods and circuitry are described, wherein the methods and circuitry are adapted to improve the performance and efficiency of the hearing aid.

Abstract: A foundry core for manufacturing a blade of a turbomachine including a tip section offset, including a core element for forming various internal cavities, the core element including a leading-edge cavity internal core, central cavity internal cores, and a trailing-edge cavity internal core. The internal core for the central cavity adjacent to the internal core for the trailing-edge cavity includes a bulge extending toward the core for the leading-edge cavity.

Abstract: A plug valve including a valve body defining an internal cavity, a first passage, and a second passage, a plug defining a third passage and being rotatable within the internal cavity, and an insert extending within the internal cavity between the valve body and the plug. The insert defines an interior surface and an opening aligned with the first passage of the valve body. The insert may also define a sealing surface extending around the opening and standing in relief against the interior surface to sealingly engage the plug. In addition to, or instead of, the sealing surface, the insert may define a projection at least partially defining the interior surface. In addition, a boot may be connected to the valve body and interlocked with the projection to prevent, or at least reduce, rotation of the insert relative to the valve body when the plug rotates within the internal cavity.

Abstract: A method and apparatus according to which a hydraulic fracturing fluid is communicated to a wellhead, the apparatus including a fracturing tree connected to the wellhead and into which the hydraulic fracturing fluid is adapted to flow, a fluid conduit connected to the fracturing tree and through which the hydraulic fracturing fluid is adapted to flow before flowing into the fracturing tree, the fluid conduit defining a straight fluid flow path, and a zipper module connected to the fluid conduit and out of which the hydraulic fracturing fluid is adapted to flow before flowing through the fluid conduit. The hydraulic fracturing fluid flows along the straight fluid flow path of the fluid conduit upon flowing out of the zipper module, and continues to so flow along the straight fluid flow path until the hydraulic fracturing fluid flows into the fracturing tree.

Abstract: An apparatus according to which a subterranean formation in which a wellbore extends is hydraulically fractured, the apparatus comprising first and second manifolds, the first manifold including first and second flow lines adapted to be in fluid communication with first and second pumps, respectively, the first pump being adapted to pressurize fluid received from the first flow line, and the second pump being adapted to pressurize fluid received from the second flow line, and the second manifold including a third flow line adapted to convey pressurized fluid from the first and second pumps to the wellbore to hydraulically fracture the subterranean formation in which the wellbore extends. The apparatus is adapted to be connected to another apparatus used to hydraulically fracture the subterranean formation in which the wellbore extends by moving one, or both, of the first and second flow lines relative to the third flow line.

Abstract: In an example implementation, communications between a downhole logging tool and surface computing subsystem can be provided through a cable that includes one or more electrical conductors. To allow multiple channels of data to be transmitted along a single multi-conductor cable, data can be divided into two or more different channels, and each channel of data can be transmitted along the conductors. Due to the length of the cable, the electrical conductors of the cable may be subject to strong capacitive and inductive coupling. As a consequence of this coupling, signals sent downhole along any two arbitrary conductors may be subject to distortion, and can produce significant “crosstalk” on the other conductors. The effects of crosstalk can be reduced in a variety of ways, for example using QR decomposition.

Abstract: A computerized system and method that automates diagnosing and prescribing treatment plans for patients with medical conditions, such as: dermatological (e.g. acne, dark spots, anti-aging), high blood pressure, diabetes, pre and post-surgical care, pain management, simple infections, and other medical conditions with standardized treatment protocols. The user inputs data comprising symptoms on their mobile device or a kiosk, e.g. a digital photograph of the user's body and/or face made with the computer's camera. The data is analyzed locally or on a remoter server, and an email is returned comprising the diagnosis and treatment plan. If a doctor's approval is required, the server will electronically communicate with a doctor's office computer, and receive the approval, to include authorization for a medical-drug prescription.

Abstract: An air ventilation system. The system may comprise an air flow control box and a control module, wherein the air flow control box may comprise: a damper housing, ventilation cap, damper assembly, control arms, and damper motor. The damper housing may define a passage traversing from a proximal end to a distal end of the damper housing and may comprise a ventilation opening. The ventilation cap may be hingedly connected to the damper housing for selective movement between an open position and a closed position. The damper assembly may be in covering relation with the passage and may comprise damper blades that pivot together for selective movement between an open position and a closed position. The damper motor may actuate the selective movement of the ventilation cap and the plurality of damper blades via the control arms. The control module may actuate the damper motor of the air flow control box.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for publishing data. A data summary summarizing the data can be generated and published according to several publishing schemes. In some embodiments, non-zero entries are selected and modified and zero entries are sampled according to one or more distribution functions. The sampled and modified values are added to a data summary, or a sample of the sampled and modified values are added to the data summary. The data summary is published, released, used, or otherwise output. In other embodiments, priority values are assigned to each value associated with the data, and a number of entries with the highest values are selected and added to the data summary.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for a child development platform that helps parents understand, track, and improve their child's development, in some embodiments using principles related to game mechanics. According to one embodiment, a user may access the services of the platform via an application on a network-connected device. Available services include a game implementing a core loop for facilitating child development. The core loop may include receiving various cards such as challenge cards, information, cards and assessment cards and completing tasks associated with the received cards. Results may be continuously gathered and presented to parents to better inform and facilitate their child's development.

Abstract: Local internet functionality may allow host devices positioned in branch office locations to securely communicate outgoing internet traffic directly over the internet. Local internet functionality may also allow said host devices to securely receive incoming internet traffic through the creation and tracking of local internet sessions. Local internet functionality is achieved by forwarding egress internet traffic over a local internet virtual pathway extending to a WAN interface/port of a local host device. The WAN interface/port is configured to communicate traffic received over the local internet virtual pathway directly over the internet, while communicating all other egress traffic over secure tunnels of the virtual edge router. The WAN interface/port is further configured to monitor outgoing local internet traffic to create and track local internet sessions.

Abstract: A cable set-top box system with integrated cable tuners and MoCA may implemented on a single integrated circuit, supporting communication over a shared coaxial cable line. The system may include a memory interface shared by DOCSIS and video/audio subsystems. The system may further include an embedded processor in the MoCA subsystem, enabling autonomous operation of the MoCA subsystem and secure flash memory that is not directly accessible by the DOCSIS subsystem.
