  • Publication number: 20230261699
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus and method for a MAP wireless network that includes a collaborative channel sounding measurement phase to determine channel state information between devices (e.g., the channel state between an STA and a collaborative AP) for efficient configuration of the MAP wireless network and to improve the performance of the MAP wireless networks. The wireless AP and wireless STAs associated with the collaborative APs can simultaneously transmit by applying collaborative beamforming where the interferences between channels nullify each other (e.g., nulling), and the beamforming is performed based on a sounding phase performed by the collaborative APs.

  • Patent number: 11729716
Abstract: Systems and methods of transmitting and receiving a Wake-Up Radio (WUR) packet by using a simplified preamble structure that contains no training field. The preamble carries a signature sequence selected from a set of predefined sequences, each corresponding to a different data transmission rate. The preamble and the control information of the WUR packet are transmitted in the same rate as indicated by the selected sequence. Hence, a receiving WUR can determine the data transmission rate and locate the associated control information directly if a sequence that matches a predefined signature sequence is detected. The same sequence or in combination with an additional sequence in the preamble may also be used to indicate automatic gain control synchronization, packet type and other related information.

  • Patent number: 11729666
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and apparatus for enhanced data retransmission based on log-likelihood ratio (LLR) combining in WLAN. According to some embodiments, packets can be retransmitted using a modified transmission scheme. Codewords are associated with cyclic redundancy checks (CRCs) for detecting errors, and a subsequent packet is received that includes data that can be used to correct the error. For example, each packet can be encoded for both error detection and correction, and the retransmission mechanism can be adapted to the error rate. The retransmission scheme is improved by utilizing an LLR combining scheme, transmit diversity, and modified ACK methods.

  • Publication number: 20230089003
Abstract: Various schemes pertaining to global cyclic shift delay (CSD) assignment for distributed-tone resource unit (dRU) transmissions in wireless communications are described. An apparatus applies a CSD index assignment in distributing a plurality of subcarriers of a resource unit (RU) over a bandwidth to generate an extremely-high-throughput short training field (EHT-STF) of a dRU. • Patent number: 11612002
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for synchronous independent channel access in a wireless network. The synchronous independent channel access can be performed by a wireless station having multiple transceivers for simultaneous communication over multiple wireless bands. A wireless station can connect wirelessly to a wireless access point to access a first primary wireless band during a transmission opportunity, and can use early access on a second primary wireless band without receiving a transmission opportunity. The transmission and reception of data frames over the different primary channels are synchronized to prevent or mitigate inter-channel interference. According to some embodiments, the channels are synchronized using back-off procedures and/or padding to align the ending time of transmitted and received data frames, for example.

  • Publication number: 20230073278
Abstract: Various schemes pertaining to encoding and transmit power control for downsized trigger-based (TB) physical-layer protocol data unit (PPDU) transmissions in next-generation WLAN systems are described. A station (STA) receives a trigger frame indicating an allocated resource unit (RU) of a first size. The STA performs channel sensing responsive to receiving the trigger frame. In response to detecting at least one subchannel being busy from the channel sensing, the STA performs a downsized trigger-based (TB) transmission with a downsized RU or multi-RU (MRU) of a second size smaller than the first size by utilizing downsized RU or MRU allocation information while maintaining a value of each of one or more parameters unchanged in an encoding process to perform the downsized TB transmission.

  • Patent number: 11601219
Abstract: Various proposed schemes pertaining to interleaving of combinations of multiple resource units (RUs) in wireless local area networks (WLANs) are described. In one example, data in a service data unit (SDU) is processed. The process data is then transmitted to a receiving entity over at least some of a plurality of resource units (RUs). The processing of the data involves either: (i) performing tone mapping by using one joint tone interleaver on one or more combinations of multiple RUs of the plurality of RUs within one frequency segment of a predefined bandwidth; or (ii) performing tone mapping by using multiple tone interleavers on the one or more combinations of multiple RUs of the plurality of RUs over multiple frequency segments of the predefined bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 11601885
Abstract: Systems and methods of transmitting a multi-user (MU) wake-up packet in FDMA. In the wake-up setup stage, an STA informs the AP that it can resolve an MU wake-up packet transmitted in FDMA. Accordingly, AP allocates a frequency channel to the STA in a WUR setup response frame which indicates a channel offset relative to the primary channel. Moreover, if a WUR channel allocated to an STA is inaccessible or there is on pending wake-up signal for the STA, no wake-up signal is included in the MU wake-up packet while any other accessible allocated channels may still be utilized for transmitting the scheduled wake-up signals. During such a transmission, an inaccessible channel may be punctured; and an accessible channel having no pending wake-up signal may be used to carry an invalid wake-up signal or a legacy preamble followed with no wake-up signal.

  • Publication number: 20230048964
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and apparatus for coordinated multi-AP channel access in a wireless network. A wireless AP that obtains a transmission opportunity (TXOP) (a “coordinator AP”) can grant one or more STAs or APs under control of the coordinator AP the use of some of the bandwidth granted by the TXOP. The STAs or APs that are granted the use of the bandwidth are referred to as “coordinated APs.” Thereafter, a coordinator AP or a coordinated AP can create a new basic service set (BSS) of devices for coordinating data transmissions. For example, the coordinated AP may serve as a relay, where the coordinated AP services devices in a new BSS by sending and receiving data with a coordinator AP in a different BSS.

  • Publication number: 20230051851
Abstract: A method pertaining to leftover bits processing for proportional round-robin resource unit (RU) parsing in extreme high-throughput (EHT) systems involves processing a stream of bits to provide processed bits. The method also involves transmitting the processed bits to a station (STA) over a combination of multiple resource units (RUs) assigned to the STA. • Publication number: 20230025632
Abstract: Various schemes pertaining to optimization of distributed resource unit (RU) tone plans for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction in 6 GHz low-power indoor (LPI) systems are described. An apparatus distributes a plurality of subcarriers of a RU over a bandwidth to generate a distributed-tone RU (dRU) or a distributed-tone multi-RU (dMRU). The apparatus then communicates with a communication entity using the dRU or the dMRU. In distributing the plurality of subcarriers of the RU to generate the dRU or the dMRU, the apparatus distributes the plurality of subcarriers of the RU with a predefined span over each 20 MHz frequency segment or subblock in the bandwidth and with a gap of at least a minimum size around a center direct-current (DC) tone in a distribution pattern of the plurality of subcarriers to result in reduction in a PAPR in communicating with the communication entity.
