  • Publication number: 20210194630
Abstract: Various proposed schemes pertaining to interleaving of combinations of multiple resource units (RUs) in wireless local area networks (WLANs) are described. In one example, data in a service data unit (SDU) is processed. The process data is then transmitted to a receiving entity over at least some of a plurality of resource units (RUs). The processing of the data involves either: (i) performing tone mapping by using one joint tone interleaver on one or more combinations of multiple RUs of the plurality of RUs within one frequency segment of a predefined bandwidth; or (ii) performing tone mapping by using multiple tone interleavers on the one or more combinations of multiple RUs of the plurality of RUs over multiple frequency segments of the predefined bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 11044056
Abstract: Systems and methods of transmitting a PPDU to or from a single user station (STA) in an OFDMA transmission by using multiple RUs. An access point (AP) allocates multiple RUs to an STA for an OFDMA transmission and correspondingly specifies the STA ID repeatedly in the user specific field of a SIG-B field in a downlink PPDU, or in the user information fields of a trigger frame. Alternatively, multiple AIDs of the STA can be specified in the user specific field or the user information fields instead of repeating the same STA ID. An indication may be inserted in the SIG-A field to indicate that the enhanced RU allocation scheme is used for the OFDMA transmission.

  • Patent number: 11019568
Abstract: Systems and methods of transmitting a multi-user (MU) wake-up packet in FDMA. In the wake-up setup stage, an STA informs the AP that it can resolve an MU wake-up packet transmitted in FDMA. Accordingly, AP allocates a frequency channel to the STA in a WUR setup response frame which indicates a channel offset relative to the primary channel. Moreover, if a WUR channel allocated to an STA is inaccessible or there is on pending wake-up signal for the STA, no wake-up signal is included in the MU wake-up packet while any other accessible allocated channels may still be utilized for transmitting the scheduled wake-up signals. During such a transmission, an inaccessible channel may be punctured; and an accessible channel having no pending wake-up signal may be used to carry an invalid wake-up signal or a legacy preamble followed with no wake-up signal.

  • Patent number: 11019559
Abstract: A method of very high throughput (VHT) operation information subfields design for IEEE 802.11 WLAN is proposed. The VHT operation information subfields comprise a channel width, a channel center frequency segment 0 (CCFS0), and a channel center frequency segment 1 (CCFS1). Multiple definitions of the VHT operation information subfields have been adopted by different access points (AP)s and wireless stations (STAs). In accordance with one novel aspect, upon receiving the VHT operation information element broadcasted by an AP, an STA will first check the channel width indicated by the AP. The STA then follows different definitions under different channel widths. Under such method, the STA can support up to 160 MHz operation mode with APs following different definitions and operating up to 160 MHz mode.

  • Patent number: 10979178
Abstract: Systems and methods of expanding indication capabilities of existent PPDU preamble fields. The “GI+LTF Size” field is redefined to indicate a new combination of GI duration and HE-LTF size. The redefinition is indicated when the values of the two other existent fields, in combination, indicate an invalid scenario because the two values should have been mutually exclusive. Particularly, the DCM field and the STBC field are both set to the “enabled” mode as an indication for redefine the “GI+LTF Size” field. Upon receiving such a PPDU, a receiver is configured to resolve the PPDU as neither DCM nor STBC is enabled. Rather, the receiver interprets the particular combination of DCM and STBC values as an indication that the “GI+LTF Size” field is redefined to indicate the new combination of GI duration and HE-LTF size.

  • Publication number: 20210014811
Abstract: A first apparatus communicates with a second apparatus via a first link in a first frequency band and via a second link in a second frequency band different than the first frequency band by performing operations. For example, the first apparatus performs an independent enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) on each of the first link and the second link. Then, the first apparatus obtains a transmit opportunity (TXOP). Next, the first apparatus synchronizes a starting time and/or an ending time of a transmission and a reception on the first link and the second link to avoid causing an in-device coexistence (IDC) interference due to the transmission and the reception occurring simultaneously. Alternatively, the first apparatus refrains from transmitting and receiving on the first link and the second link simultaneously to avoid causing the IDC interference.

  • Publication number: 20200412496
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide apparatus and methods for performing HARQ operations using parallel HARQ threads, where each new transmission of a Media Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (MPDU)/Aggregate-MPDU (A-MPDU)/Physical Layer Convergence Procedure (PLCP) Service Data Unit (PSDU) triggers the activation of a HARQ thread. Each HARQ thread contains one or more HARQ coding words or coding units. A HARQ thread index is setup by a transmission opportunity (TXOP) holder for a corresponding PSDU and is used to identify HARQ threads. Transmission information such as duration in formation for PPDUs including BA/HARQ-ACK feedback such as RX/TX addresses, etc. can be determined according to previous transmission values of a received PPDU (e.g., values of a MAC or PHY header).

  • Publication number: 20200389934
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide transmission schemes and methods that can assign multiple resource units (RUs) to a single wireless station using Aggregate Media Access Control Protocol Data Unit (A-MPDUs) in a flexible transmission scheme for the multi-RUs transmission. Embodiments of the present invention can send and receive data sing multiple resource units allocated to a single wireless STA. A 20 MHz segment and a 40 MHz segment on either side of a punctured portion of an 80 MHz segment can be treated as separate resource units (RUs), and the RUs can be assigned to the same wireless user/device. Each punctured 80 MHz segment can be interleaved separately. Different processes for encoding data and transmission schemes for transmitting the data are described herein according to embodiments of the present invention. Different transmission schemes can be used based on the size and number of the RUs allocated to an STA.
