  • Patent number: 7772938
Abstract: The electric multiple conductor system (1) is used for the transmission of signals in differential mode, and has two signal lines (5, 6) and a shared reference line (7). Each signal line (5, 6) includes an attenuation or filter element (13, 14) with a connection branch (15, 16), which runs between a branch node (20, 21) in the respective signal line (5, 6) and the reference line (7). The attenuation or filter elements (13, 14) of the respective signal lines (5, 6) are nominally of the same size. Each connection branch (15, 16) respectively includes a serial connection of a first partial branch (17, 18) having a first reactive impedance (23, 24) and a second partial branch (19) having a second reactive impedance (25). The second partial branch (19) is a shared component of all attenuation or filter elements (13, 14). The multiple conductor system (1) achieves a very high level of common mode suppression.

  • Publication number: 20100192698
Abstract: An occupant presence sensor apparatus disposed in a seat includes first and second substantially non-compliant force translation plates generally parallel to the seating surface of the seat, an elastomeric mat disposed between the first and second force translation plates, and a switch mechanism disposed between the first and second force translation plates within an opening formed in the elastomeric mat. The elastomeric mat includes a distributed array of hollow protuberances that extend toward and contact the force translation plates, and the mat has a stiffness that normally provides a clearance between the switch mechanism and one of the force translation plates. When an occupant of specified or higher weight sits on the seating surface, the protuberances collapse and the force translation plates activate the switch mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20100025974
Abstract: A low-cost automatic suppression apparatus allows or suppresses deployment of a low risk deployment airbag based solely on occupant seat load and seat belt tension. The seat load and belt tension parameters are detected by low-cost sensors, and an airbag control unit suppresses airbag deployment when the occupant load is below a specified load threshold or the belt tension is above a specified tension threshold, and otherwise allows airbag deployment. The sensors are preferably switch-based so that the signals provided to the airbag control unit are in the form of a differential electrical current, and only two wires are needed to interface each sensor to the airbag control unit.

  • Patent number: 7646356
Abstract: An antenna comprises a first antenna element, which has a first helix, and a second antenna element, which has a second helix. The first and the second antenna elements each have a feed point at an outer end of the corresponding helix and an open end at an inner end of the corresponding helix. A symmetrical helix antenna according to the invention can be integrated in a comparatively simple manner in an existing system, for example in a hearing aid. By integrating the antenna in a plastic housing, the antenna cannot be seen at all from the outside. The antenna is comparatively small in relation to conventional antennas.
