  • Publication number: 20140190902
Abstract: Waste water from an industrial process, including an organic acid, is reprocessed by introducing the waste water into a heat exchange process in which a heat exchange medium is used so that the waste water which is to be treated is heated to a temperature between 60° C. and the boiling point of the waste water. Subsequently, the waste water is partially evaporated and re-condensed, with the waste water irradiated with UV radiation during the evaporation and condensation process in the liquid and/or gas phase. As a result, a chemical transformation of the organic acid in H2O and carbon dioxide is at least partially carried out. Then, the condensed part of the purified waste water is fed back into the industrial process.

  • Publication number: 20140174097
Abstract: A gas turbine arrangement, a power plant having such a gas turbine arrangement and a method for operating the power plant are provided. A compressor may be mechanically coupled to a turbine which can be driven by combustion gases, such as can be generated by combustion of fuel with the compressed combustion air. An exhaust system may be used to discharge the combustion gases. One or more thermoelectric generators may be thermally coupled to the exhaust system for generating electrical energy from residual heat of the combustion gases which pass in the exhaust system, This gas turbine arrangement allows waste heat from the combustion gases to be utilized and thus the overall efficiency of the gas turbine arrangement can be increased and pollutant emissions may be lowered.

  • Patent number: 8640110
Abstract: Systems, methods, computer program products, and the like for performing business object service simulation are disclosed. A runtime model of a business object can be generated. The runtime model can include a plurality of structural and functional entities. A simulation runtime model of the business object can be instantiated. The simulation runtime model can include a plurality of pseudo-structural and pseudo-functional entities. During the simulation runtime model, a predetermined business object service of the business object can be selected and at least one parameter of the predetermined business object service can be determined. Functional entities of the runtime model can be replaced with pseudo-functional entities of the simulation runtime model. The simulation runtime model can be executed using pseudo-functional entities.

  • Publication number: 20140020558
Abstract: An apparatus and method remove particulate matter from a gas. The apparatus has an inlet for receiving a contaminated gas having particulate matter, and for inducing a swirl to the contaminated gas. A cyclonic separation stage including a first flow-path is provided for separating a portion of the particulate matter from the swirl-induced contaminated gas by centrifugal action, to produce a partially clean gas. An ionization stage including a second flow-path is provided for ionizing the particulate matter remaining in the partially clean gas by producing a corona discharge in the second flow-path. A particle collection stage including a third flow-path is provided for separating the ionized particulate matter from the gas using an electric field across the third flow-path, to produce a clean gas. The ionization stage and the particle collection stage are arranged such that the third flow-path has an increased cross-sectional area relative to the second flow-path.

  • Patent number: 8061189
Abstract: For monitoring a combustion process in an internal combustion engine wherein a fuel-air mixture is ignited with a high-frequency plasma it is provided to determine the impedance of the plasma. A high-frequency signal is applied to the resonator with a capacity that is so low that no arcing-over forms on the electrodes and the high-frequency current and the high-frequency voltage are measured. The impedance of the ignited mixture is determined from the high-frequency current and the high-frequency voltage.

  • Patent number: 7952031
Abstract: A barrier system for a line leadthrough in an electric installation has mutually adjacent wall elements forming barriers that extend in an axial longitudinal direction and are spaced apart from each other, forming channels. The wall elements lie partially on a support, at least at their lower ends. The wall elements are joined by a plug element to the leadthrough. Slots having a width which corresponds to the wall thickness of the wall elements are arranged in the plug element. The wall elements can be inserted into the slots, thus permitting a barrier system to be quickly and easily assembled and disassembled.

  • Patent number: 7845937
Abstract: A specific electrode arrangement for a burner already exists with which the flame of the burner is influenced by using electrical fields, whereby these electrical fields pass through only areas of the flame in which a stabilizing and pollutant-reducing action occurs. According to at least one embodiment of the invention, the electrodes used to this end simultaneously serve both as probes for detecting flame properties as well as active field electrodes for influencing the flame properties. The probe signals can react to the voltage applied in an inertia-free manner to the electrodes without the involvement of mechanical elements. According to the associated device equipped with a burner and associated electrodes and with a power supply unit, the power supply unit furnishes a voltage that varies over time, and at least one measuring transducer exists that detects the current generated in the flame by the voltage between both electrodes and provides feedback to the power supply unit after amplification.

  • Patent number: 7726451
Abstract: A vibration damper with amplitude-selective damping force includes a piston rod carrying a piston arrangement axially movably arranged in a cylinder and dividing the cylinder into two working spaces. A flow connection is present between the working spaces and controlled by an axially movable switching ring which cooperates with a working surface which faces the ring to define a pilot opening cross section. A bypass channel with at least two connecting openings to the flow connection is provided hydraulically in parallel to the flow connection. At least one connecting opening upstream of each of two stop surface of the switching ring. A check valve arrangement separates the bypass channel and the flow connection from each other in the different flow directions as a function of the movements of the piston rod, the check valve arrangement having two check valves which close in opposite directions.
