  • Patent number: 10137255
Abstract: An autoinjector includes a case having a rib, a needle shroud telescopically coupled to the case, a carrier slidably arranged in the case and adapted to hold a medicament container, and a collar rotatably and slidably disposed in the case and coupled to the needle shroud and the carrier. The needle shroud is movable between a first extended position, a retracted position and a locked second extended position. The carrier is movable from a first axial position to a second axial position relative to the case. The collar abuts the rib when the needle shroud is in the first extended position and the carrier is in the first axial position, and the collar disengages the rib when the needle shroud is in the retracted position and the carrier is in the second axial position.

  • Publication number: 20180200445
Abstract: A detent mechanism for controlling translation between two components in a longitudinal direction includes a resilient beam on one of the components and a rhomboid ramp member on the other component. The resilient beam is essentially straight when relaxed and has a first beam head and is arranged to interact in a ramped engagement with respectively one of two ramps. Each ramp is on one longitudinal side of the rhomboid ramp member such that application of a translative force between the components in one longitudinal direction with the first beam head engaged to one of the ramps in a first state deflects the resilient beam in one transversal direction and such that application of a translative force between the components in the other longitudinal direction with the first beam head engaged to the other one of the ramps deflects the resilient beam in the other transversal direction.

  • Publication number: 20180177947
Abstract: Described is an injection device for administering a dose of a medicament (M) comprising a carrier adapted to contain a syringe having a hollow injection needle and a stopper, a drive spring, a plunger adapted to forward load of the drive spring to the stopper, and a noise component adapted to generate an audible and/or tactile feedback by impacting a component of the injection device when the stopper is located at a proximal end of the syringe. In a first state, a resilient arm on the plunger is maintained in engagement with the noise component by the carrier. In a second state, the arm disengages the noise component and deflects at least partially into an aperture in the carrier.

  • Publication number: 20170246397
Abstract: An auto-injector for administering a dose of a liquid medicament includes a case and a carrier subassembly with a carrier slidably arranged inside the case. The carrier can contain a syringe with a hollow injection needle, a drive spring and a plunger for forwarding drive spring load to a syringe stopper. The syringe can jointly, axially translate with the carrier. The drive spring acts between the carrier and the plunger. In an initial state, the plunger is locked to the carrier by a ramped engagement to the carrier and is prevented from rotating out of this engagement depending on a longitudinal position of the carrier in the case. The plunger can be released for rotating out of the ramped engagement when the needle reaches nearly a predefined injection depth on translation of the carrier in the proximal direction for advancing the needle beyond a proximal end of the auto-injector.
