  • Patent number: 10359289
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses and computer-readable storage mediums are disclosed for device state estimation under periodic motion. In some implementations, a method comprises: detecting, by a device, periodic motion from a sensor signal generated by a sensor of the device; generating, by the device, a trigger signal or schedule based on the detecting; generating, by the device, a periodic motion constraint update in response to the detecting; and updating, by the device and in response to the trigger signal or schedule, an estimated state of the device using the periodic motion constraint update.

  • Publication number: 20190215621
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to hearing devices configurable between open fit and closed fit configurations at different times through actuation of one or more acoustic valves located in one or more corresponding sound passages of the hearing device. The one or more acoustic valves of the hearing device are adaptively controlled based on context detected by one or more sensors. The context may be, but is not limited to, a mode of operation of the hearing devices which may include, for example, an audio content playback mode and a voice communication mode. The actuatable valves may be actuatable in situ without having to remove the hearing device from the user's ear thereby enabling the user to experience the benefit of a closed fit or an open fit depending on the user's desire or other context.

  • Publication number: 20190215620
Abstract: Methods and apparatus determine the actual state of one or more acoustic valves e.g., whether an acoustic valve is open or closed, in a hearing device. A sensor in the hearing device is configured to generate an output signal indicative of a state of the acoustic valve. An electrical circuit actuates the acoustic valve if the actual state is different than a desired state. The determination of the state of the acoustic valve can be done on the hearing device or on a remote device.

  • Patent number: 10345426
Abstract: Systems, methods, devices and computer-readable storage mediums are disclosed for device state estimation under pedestrian motion with swinging limb. In some implementations, a method comprises: determining, by a device, that the device is attached to a swinging limb based on a sensor signal; determining, by the device, a rotational velocity component due to the swinging limb based on the sensor signal and limb parameters; estimating, by the device, device velocity; and determining, by the device, user velocity based on the device velocity and the rotational velocity component.

  • Publication number: 20190208302
Abstract: An ear tip includes a body member that forms an internal chamber. The body member has an exterior portion configured to contact at least a portion of an ear canal of a user of the ear tip. The internal chamber has a nominal volume when the internal chamber is not deformed. A fluid is disposed in the internal chamber of the body member where a volume of the fluid-filled internal chamber is less than the nominal volume when the fluid-filled internal chamber is deformed.

  • Patent number: 10279570
Abstract: A composite board with a multilayer laminated facer is presented having a nonwoven, a first polymer layer, and a second polymer layer. The laminate may be printed on the nonwoven, on the upper surface of the first polymer layer or inverted printed on the backside of an applied film. A number of configurations for the polymer layers are disclosed. The laminate may include exposed fibers on the lower surface or the nonwoven may be saturated. A removable peel-ply may be included. By controlling the placement and thickness of the polymer layers it is possible to tailor additive in the polymers such as colorants, opacifiers, UV stabilizers, and fire retardants to improve quality and reduce costs. In an alternate embodiment of the present invention, a first polymer layer is applied to the topside of the nonwoven and the second polymer is laminated to the first polymer layer as a preformed film. The laminated facer is thermally or adhesively bonded to the composite board.

  • Publication number: 20190080698
Abstract: A voice assistant system may be configured to receive a spoken introduction from a trusted user to introduce a new user and designate access privileges for the new user. The voice assistant system may process the speech using automated speech recognition and may parse the text to determine intent. The voice assistant system may also analyze the speech to determine a profile associated with the speaker that spoke the introduction. The voice assistant system may determine that the trusted user includes administrative privileges. The access privileges, when granted, may allow the new user to interact with the voice assistant system, such as to issue commands, extract information, play media, and/or perform other actions with the voice assistant system, which may be unavailable to people who are not introduced to the voice assistant system by a trusted user and/or do not have the access privileges associated with a user profile.
