  • Patent number: 10670416
Abstract: An HD map system represents landmarks on a high definition map for autonomous vehicle navigation, including describing spatial location of lanes of a road and semantic information about each lane, and along with traffic signs and landmarks. The system generates lane lines designating lanes of roads based on, for example, mapping of camera image pixels with high probability of being on lane lines into a three-dimensional space, and locating/connecting center lines of the lane lines. The system builds a large connected network of lane elements and their connections as a lane element graph. The system also represents traffic signs based on camera images and detection and ranging sensor depth maps. These landmarks are used in building a high definition map that allows autonomous vehicles to safely navigate through their environments.

  • Publication number: 20200151900
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs are provided for generating an interactive space. One method includes identifying a reference point in a three-dimensional (3D) space using a portable device. The reference point is calibrated to an origin point of the portable device. The method includes determining by the device a position and an orientation of the portable device at the origin point. The position and orientation is determined using data from an inertial sensor of the portable device and data from the camera. The method includes generating by the portable device an augmented reality (AR) space using the reference point. The AR space includes virtual objects imposed over or in the 3D space.

  • Publication number: 20200140327
Abstract: A method of strengthening glass articles includes introducing potassium ions to a surface region of the glass by an initial ion-exchange process, thermally treating the glass at a thermal treatment temperature and time sufficient to diffuse the potassium ions further into the glass to a depth of layer, and introducing a compressive stress of greater than 400 MPa at the surface through a final ion-exchange process. The final ion-exchange process may be conducted at a final ion-exchange temperature of no more than 450° C. The method of strengthening produces a glass article having a compressive stress of at least 400 MPa at the surface, a depth of compression of at least 30 ?m, and a central tension less than a threshold central tension above which flaws penetrating into the central region of the glass exhibit spontaneous self-propagation of the flaw front through and across the glass.
