  • Patent number: 6739458
Abstract: The invention is relative to a device for dehydrating sludge such as occurs in sewage treatment plants in the form of dilute sludge. The receptacle for the sludge contains a sieve surface comprising openings for the passage of liquid. The sieve surface, for its part, is substantially circular can be rotated about an axis (21) running vertically to the sieve surface. The axis (21) of the sieve surface (2) is inclined relative to a horizontal line and is caused to rotate by a drive device (3). The disk-shaped sieve surface (2) is arranged in a container (11) comprising a bottom (13) and a side wall (12) through which side wall a supply line (4) for the sludge and an outlet (41) for the separated water run.

  • Patent number: 6676377
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (3) for simultaneously interlocking a plurality of actuators (1) by means of a first locking element (5) which is assigned to each final control element (2) of an actuator (1) and which interacts with a second locking element (6). The second locking element is fixed inside the housing (4) in an actuating direction of the final control element (2) and is displaced into an interlocking position by spring force and into an unlocking position by an assisting force. The invention provides that a plurality of second locking elements (6) are interconnected and are actuated by a common device (11). As a result, the variety of parts, the safety risk, the weight, and the constructional complexity are reduced which is very important especially when the inventive device is used in helicopter.

  • Patent number: 6533549
Abstract: A helicopter with rotor blades rotatably connected to a rotor head. The rotor head is non-rotatably connected with a rotor mast (1) pivoted in a transmission housing and driven by a transmission via at least one driving mechanism. A pitch of the rotor blades, relative to a plane of rotation of the rotor blades, is controlled via a swash plate, control rods (12) and via individual actuators (9) allocated to each individual rotor blade. The control rods (12) and the actuators (9) are mounted in the rotor mast (1) and the rotor head and those components act, via a mixing lever (11) and a control rod (8), upon a pivoted arm (7) which adjusts the pitch of the rotor blade. The control devices of the rotor blades do not interfere with the air flow, are affected only to a limited extent by centrifugal forces and additional stresses, and are also protected against influences of the weather.

  • Patent number: 6109876
Abstract: In a helicopter with the rotor blades controlled by a swash plate with a stationary part (11) and a rotary part (9) and hydraulic adjusters (4) in a stationary part of the helicopter or in a rotating system, it is proposed to fit a pump, especially a multi-cylinder reciprocating piston pump, between the stationary part (11) and the rotary part (9) of the swash plate. Besides reducing space needs, weight and costs, this provides a short, reliable oil distribution system to the consumers.

  • Patent number: 6103110
Abstract: A screening apparatus (1) for sewage (13) including liquid (4) and debris and flowing in an oncoming tube (23) includes a conveyor assembly (6) and a separation area (2). The conveyor assembly (6) has a tube-like housing (7), an axle (8) driven by a motor, and a screw (9) provided on the axle (8). The conveyor assembly (6) with its axis (10) is arranged substantially vertical to convey the debris in a substantially upward direction. The separation area (2) of cylindrical shape to deposit the debris has an axis (5), an inner surface (41), a circumference, and openings (3) located about the circumference. The separation area (2) with its axis (5) is arranged in alignment with the substantially vertically arranged axis (10) of the conveyor assembly (6). The separation area (2) is connected to the housing (7) of the conveyor assembly (6), and includes an opening (17) serving as an inlet (40) for the sewage (13) into the interior of the separation area (2).

  • Patent number: 5844413
Abstract: The invention describes a method and an apparatus for generating and receiving electromagnetic waves for test purposes and is applicable particularly for measurements, investigations and tests of electromagnetic compatibility. For testing the immunity, the test piece is acted upon with defined field parameters and, during the emission measurement, the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the test piece is measured. It is an important distinguishing feature of the invention that a cell, constructed as a TEM waveguide, is rotated about the test piece. The apparatus is characterized in that the lid and bottom of the pyramidal cell are constructed so as to be electrically conducting and in that two-dimensional septa, which consist of individual wires of equal length, are disposed in each case symmetrically at a small distance from the lid and the bottom.

  • Patent number: 4022443
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the concentration and recovery of platinum family metals from ceramic materials is disclosed, wherein the metal desired is first transported from the ceramic material through the utilization of a temperature gradient in a specially adapted furnace utilizing the volatile characteristics of the oxide of the metal desired. The volatile oxide is deposited upon a nucleation surface where it is reduced by means of hydrogen as the furnace cools to recover the metal.
