  • Patent number: 9148336
Abstract: There is provided a system and method for resilient routing based on a multi-channel model for emergency management. The system includes a packet delivery anomaly detector for determining an existence of an anomaly in a mandated routing infrastructure for a packet that renders the packet incapable of reaching a destination node designated for the packet through the mandated routing infrastructure. The system further includes a dynamic alternate route identifier for dynamically identifying alternate routes for the packet responsive to a determination of the existence of the anomaly. The alternate routes are outside the mandated routing infrastructure, are provided using one or more mobile devices external to and not part of the mandated routing infrastructure, and are dynamically identified responsive to at least geographic location information. The system also includes a wireless transmitter for wirelessly routing the packet using at least one of the alternate routes.

  • Publication number: 20150254563
Abstract: A method for detecting an emotional stressor in a network includes detecting changes in emotions of users of the network, correlating individual ones of the changes in emotions, in accordance with a map that illustrates spatial, social, or temporal connections of the users, and inferring a cause of at least one of the changes in emotion, based on the correlating. A computer program product for detecting an emotional stressor in a network comprises a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith. The program instructions are executable by a processor to cause the processor to perform a method including detecting changes in emotions of users of the network, correlating individual ones of the changes in emotions, in accordance with a map that illustrates spatial, social, or temporal connections of the users, and inferring a cause of at least one of the changes in emotion, based on the correlating.

  • Publication number: 20150178920
Abstract: Social media databases are minded for data related to a subject person. The data in indicative of a level of ultraviolet light exposure of the subject person. An ultraviolet violet exposure profile for the subject person is generated based upon the data and a health assessment report provided. The data may include timestamped images of the subject person and other related persons. The skin characteristics within images are analysed to determine an ultraviolet light exposure level for the subject person from each image. The skin characteristics may include skin colour, freckling and blemishing. The ultraviolet light exposure profile may be developed over an extended interval based upon the image timestamps. The health report may be used to mitigate risks, such as skin cancer, associated with exposure to ultraviolet light.

  • Publication number: 20140195214
Abstract: Automatic driver modeling is used to integrate human-controlled vehicles into an autonomous vehicle network. A driver of a human-controlled vehicle is identified based on behavior patterns of the driver measured by one or more sensors of an autonomous vehicle. A model of the driver is generated based on the behavior patterns of the driver measured by the one or more sensors of the autonomous vehicle. Previously stored behavior patterns of the driver are then retrieved from a database to augment the model of the driver. The model of the driver is then transmitted from the autonomous vehicle to nearby vehicles with autonomous interfaces.
