  • Patent number: 9863452
Abstract: A method for attaching a first object of a first material to one or more second objects of dissimilar second materials without any bonding material is provided. Anchoring elements are positioned at opposing sections of the first object. A tension assembly is positioned substantially at a mid-section between the opposing sections on a rear surface of the first object. One or more tension bearing members are connected to one or more second objects positioned at one or more of the opposing sections on a front surface and/or the rear surface of the first object, via the anchoring elements. Front ends of the tension bearing members extending at the opposing sections on the rear surface of the first object are operably connected to the tension assembly. The tension assembly generates a tension in the extended tension bearing members to attach the objects made of dissimilar materials to each other.

  • Publication number: 20170347909
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for measuring muscle reflexes (e.g., a bulbocavernosus reflex) as a tool for identifying/diagnosing dysfunctions (e.g., spinal cord abnormalities, bladder voiding dysfunction, and sexual organ dysfunction) non-invasively by using mechanical stimulation. The system and method includes a probe having a predetermined patient contacting portion, wherein when the contacting portion is moved into contact with a particular area of the patient (e.g., the patient's genitals), the contact induces a muscle reflex. The probe detects the pressure resulting from the contacting portion being abruptly and forcibly brought into contact with the particular area. Such detection is used to electronically initiate capture of electrical responses from a plurality of electrodes placed on the patient's skin in proximity to the particular area. Such electrical responses are processed to determine characteristics of the patient's reflexes of one or more muscles adjacent to the electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20170192765
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing application performance in a distributed computing environment. Embodiments commence when an application seeks to perform a function over a content object. The application submits a request to perform the function on the content object, and the request is received by an application programming interface processor. The application programming interface processor accesses a data structure comprising entries that relate the requested function to one or more code instances that are accessible at one or more code locations. An evaluator predicts performance of the function using a first location of a first code instance and compares that predicted performance to a predicted or measured performance of the same function using a second location of a second code instance that implements the same function. The better performing code instance at the determined code location is invoked. Results are collated, formatted, and returned to the calling application.

  • Patent number: 9392049
Abstract: Technologies are provided for identifying context associated with received content and automatically forwarding the content to an associated communication network for posting. In some examples, a user may create content for posting to one or more communication networks and send the content over a network for posting to a first communication network. Upon receipt of the content for posting, the first communication network may identify a context of the received content and may associate the context with a second communication network based on a set of content forwarding rules. The first communication network may automatically forward the received content to the associated second communication network for posting at the second communication network. Additionally, a third party entity may be configured to monitor content received at a first communication network, identify a context of the received content, and automatically forward the received content to the associated second communication network for posting.
