  • Patent number: 8060248
Abstract: There is provided an automated prescription filling system using a robotic arm in combination with an automatic pharmaceutical dispenser having a plurality of individual pill-counting units, each under the control of its own microprocessor. The automatic pharmaceutical dispensers are modified for use with the robotic arm. Because tablet counting is completely independent of the robotic arm, system throughput is higher than in systems of the prior art. Unlike systems of the prior art, each individual pill-counting unit can be removed from behind the pharmaceutical dispenser so that the system need not be stopped for such service. The fact that counting operations are divorced from robotic arm movements allows the arm movements to be optimized and multiple prescriptions to be processed simultaneously. Controller software optimizes movement of the robotic arm based upon such factors as the fullness of the vial being transported.

  • Publication number: 20110203944
Abstract: A food storage container and bag attached together with soaker pad inserted into the container resting on the bottom of the cylindrical container that narrows from top to bottom, this food storage container and bag attached together with soaker pad is useful in the storage of moisture-retentive foods such as produce. The bag of the invention includes a plastic bag having a front and rear panel of a plastic film sealed together on both sides, the front and rear panels also being partially sealed and closed at one end to form a bottom of the bag with a cylindrical opening cut in the center of the bottom of the bag, the bag being completely open at the opposite end (top end) for receipt of goods to be stored in the bag, the top end having a tie attached to help in sealing the top once the goods are placed in the bag and container.

  • Patent number: 7837913
Abstract: Millimeter to nano-scale structures manufactured using a multi-component polymer fiber matrix are disclosed. The use of dissimilar polymers allows the selective dissolution of the polymers at various stages of the manufacturing process. In one application, biocompatible matrixes may be formed with long pore length and small pore size. The manufacturing process begins with a first polymer fiber arranged in a matrix formed by a second polymer fiber. End caps may be attached to provide structural support and the polymer fiber matrix selectively dissolved away leaving only the long polymer fibers. These may be exposed to another product, such as a biocompatible gel to form a biocompatible matrix. The polymer fibers may then be selectively dissolved leaving only a biocompatible gel scaffold with the pores formed by the dissolved polymer fibers.

  • Patent number: 7636905
Abstract: An apparatus and method perform static timing analysis on an integrated circuit design. Certain pessimistic assumptions regarding slack when data launch and clock test signals are on opposite edges and derived from common logic blocks are improved by creating a dummy clock edge that is on the same edge as the data launch signal, and allowing the timing tool to compute the slack improvement using its native functions. The slack improvement is then multiplied by a conversion factor, and the result is used to adjust the slack. The apparatus and method give credit for slack in common blocks automatically, thereby allowing a large number of pessimistic slack values to be automatically corrected and reducing the workload of an integrated circuit designer in addressing the timing problems in an integrated circuit design.

  • Patent number: 7592782
Abstract: An internal combustion motor assembly, including an internal combustion motor, a starter and a battery. In addition, the motor assembly includes a capacitor assembly, a capacitor charging assembly and a conductive network, logic and controlled switching assembly adapted to place the internal combustion motor into one of a set of states. This set includes a first state in which the capacitor assembly is receiving charge from the capacitor charging assembly but is not electrically connected to the starter; a second state in which the capacitor assembly is electrically connected to and powers the starter; and a third state in which both the battery and the capacitor assembly are electrically connected to and power the starter. The logic and controlled switching assembly places the internal combustion motor assembly into the third state after it has been in the second state and a set of criteria is met.

  • Publication number: 20090200076
Abstract: A compressor comprising a shell, a compression mechanism disposed within the shell, a drive shaft for operating the compression mechanism, and a motor for driving the drive shaft. A terminal is secured to the shell for delivering electric current to at least one of the compression mechanism and the motor. A terminal block is engaged with the terminal, and a wire carries the electric current from the terminal and the terminal block. A wire retainer located relative to the compression mechanism supports the wire in a predetermined orientation within the shell.
