  • Patent number: 12275904
Abstract: Methods are provided to prepare a low sulfur fuel from hydrocarbon sources, such as light tight oil and high sulfur fuel oil, often less desired by conventional refiners, who split crude into a wide range of differing products and may prefer presence of wide ranges (C3 or C5 to C20 or higher) of hydrocarbons. These fuels can be produced by separating feeds into untreated and treated streams, and then recombining them. Such fuels can also be formulated by combinations of light, middle and heavy range constituents in a selected manner as claimed. Not only low in sulfur, the fuels of this invention are also low in nitrogen and essentially metals free. Fuel use applications include on-board large marine transport vessels but also on-shore for large land based combustion gas turbines, boilers, fired heaters and transport vehicles and trains.

  • Publication number: 20250117878
Abstract: A playout device and method for playing out zoomed broadcast content starting from an input video stream captured by a wide angle of view camera. Based on a plurality of key points 1 to N in the input video stream a center of a zoomed virtual camera view and a corresponding zoom level is either manually selected or automatically determined. These data are used to calculate a trajectory of the virtual camera movement for every image in the input video stream. For creating a zoomed video clip, the images of the input video are cropped outside of the virtual camera view.

  • Publication number: 20250115805
Abstract: A method of the invention prepares a hydrocarbon-bearing formation for stimulation. A bottom hole assembly comprising a plug and a perforation tool connected to a wireline is lowered into a wellbore having a casing. An acidic composition is injected into the wellbore; wherein a spacer separates the acidic composition from said bottom hole assembly, but the acidic composition is in direct contact with both the wireline and casing. The spacer may be existing water in the wellbore or water injected into the wellbore. The plug is positioned downhole beyond a location where a first perforation area is to be made in the casing. The perforation tool is activated creating the first perforation area. The acid then contacts the first perforation area and cementitious debris generated from the casing being perforated. The perforation tool is next moved up-hole to a second location and the casing is again perforated to create a second perforation area.

  • Publication number: 20250116417
Abstract: Heating and/or cooling systems, related methods, particularly those utilized for the heating and/or cooling of large structures, areas, or environments are disclosed herein. In one example embodiment, such a system includes a stratified thermal storage tank (STST), heat exchanger, and heat pump. A first amount of a fluid can flow from the STST to a heating load and then to the heat exchanger, at which residual heat can be received, and which is configured to receive a medium from an external source. The medium can flow from the source through the heat exchanger to an evaporator of the heat pump and transport first heat to the evaporator, including the residual heat. A risk of ice formation at the evaporator is reduced/eliminated. The heat pump is configured to cycle a refrigerant, so that the first heat is transferred from the evaporator to a gas cooler, and then to the STST.

  • Publication number: 20250117029
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatic multi-modality sensor calibration with near-infrared images (NIR). Image keypoints from collected images and NIR keypoints from NIR can be detected. A deep-learning-based neural network that learns relation graphs between the image keypoints and the NIR keypoints can match the image keypoints and the NIR keypoints. Three dimensional (3D) points from 3D point cloud data can be filtered based on corresponding 3D points from the NIR keypoints (NIR-to-3D points) to obtain filtered NIR-to-3D points. An extrinsic calibration can be optimized based on a reprojection error computed from the filtered NIR-to-3D points to obtain an optimized extrinsic calibration for an autonomous entity control system. An entity can be controlled by employing the optimized extrinsic calibration for the autonomous entity control system.
