Abstract: The present invention is to provide a cellular phone capable of detecting counterfeit currency or lighting comprising a counterfeit currency detection bulb, a lamp and a keypad, wherein the keypad includes a first dual key in association with the counterfeit currency detection bulb, a second dual key in association with the lamp and a plurality of third keys, such that in response to pressing the first dual key or the second dual key, the cellular phone activates the counterfeit currency detection bulb for detecting counterfeit currency or activates the lamp for lighting respectively.

Abstract: This invention discloses a portable communication apparatus having an optical character recognition (OCR) function. The apparatus at least contains an optical input unit, a processing unit and an edition unit. After the optical input unit obtains the image information which is further transformed by the processing unit to letters which can be processed by the portable communication apparatus, the edition unit then can edit and/or store the letters into the portable communication apparatus to finish the OCR function.

Abstract: A system to be used to add non-listed characters (i.e., characters not listed in character key-in methods) to the vocabulary banks of character-key-in methods used in hand-held mobile communication devices is disclosed. Users of a mobile communication device can select a character or characters which are built in the system but not indexed by a certain character-key-in method (that is, the characters cannot be keyed in with that character-key-in method), index the aforesaid characters, using the indexing system/method of the character-key-in method, and then add them to the key-in method's character-indexing system so that subsequent users of the mobile communication device can use said character-key-in method to key in said (originally non-indexed/listed) characters.

Abstract: A method for restoring automatically an original setting in a mobile device is disclosed in which a monitoring module is included, comprising the steps of memorizing a plurality of initial communication settings by the monitoring module when a SIM card is inserted in the mobile device as a spare copy of parameters, examining a plurality of APs parameters stored in the mobile device, comparing the spare copy of parameters and the plurality of APs parameters, and executing automatically an initial setting process on the mobile device and overwriting the plurality of APs parameters stored in the mobile device. As such, the previous basic settings of the mobile device may be rapidly restored in a simple manner and the mobile device may be restored back to a normally state.

Abstract: A method for administrating SMS message of mobile phone is disclosed, The method comprises the steps of receiving an SMS message;. analyzing the sender ID; determining whether the sender ID matches with the lists set by the user on the guard function; if the sender ID is matched, the receive/instant-delete function will be check whether it is initiated; if it is initiated, the received SMS message will be deleted instantly without display; if it is not initiated, informing the new SMS message to the user by the vibration of mobile phone and sending the received SMS message directly to the spam SMS message file; if the sender ID is not matched, displaying the received new SMS message. The present invention utilizes a multi-layer type SMS-message guard function to abate various SMS-message nuisances and provides a simple administration interface, easiness of operation, and convenience of receiving for the user.

Abstract: A telephone tone setting system and method allows a speaker to set the tone of a receiver. The system includes an authorization control module, a setting module, a receiving module, a number comparing and judging module and an audio broadcasting module. The authorization control module is located in the receiver to control acceptance of tone setting from the speaker. The setting module is located in the speaker for setting the tone of the receiver and mating the phone number of the speaker and the corresponding tone. The receiving module detects and receives the phone number of a phone connecting to the receiver. The number comparing and judging module compares and determines whether the detected phone number matching the phone number of the speaker. When the phone numbers match, the audio broadcasting module broadcasts in the receiver the tone corresponding to the phone number of the speaker.

The method comprises: entering into a Chinese text editing status and receiving an input code; displaying a plurality of choices of the Chinese characters corresponding to the input code, the plurality of the choices of the Chinese characters being arranged in an order based on a usage frequency of each of the plurality of choices of the Chinese characters; selecting one Chinese character from the plurality of choices of the Chinese characters; and adjusting the usage frequency of the selected Chinese character. The method utilizes a data structure with a weighting value for each Chinese character so that during the input process, the usage frequency of each character is recorded. Hence, the method can expedite the users selection of the Chinese character with a higher usage frequency to attune to the users personal habit.
