  • Patent number: 11382167
Abstract: A UE operating in a network that supports dual connectivity operation is configured to minimize the transmission of unnecessary UE failure indications. The UE detects secondary cell group (SCG) failure for the UE, in response to detecting one of a plurality of SCG failure-triggering events. The UE sends a UE failure indication message, in response to the detecting SCG failure, and refrains from sending further UE failure indication messages in response to SCG failure-triggering events, until the sending of further UE failure indication messages is reenabled. In some cases, the UE sets a state of the UE to a UE prohibit state to prohibit sending further UE failure indication messages while in the UE prohibit state. In other cases, the UE starts a prohibit timer to prohibit sending further UE failure indication messages during the prohibit timer.

  • Publication number: 20220200740
Abstract: A hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process for cells configurable for multiple uplink grants is provided. A new rule to define the HARQ process identifiers (IDs) for configured grant is introduced, in cases when multiple configured grant configurations are used. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for a HARQ process in a cell configurable for multiple configured uplink grants is provided. The method comprises receiving an uplink grant comprising a HARQ process ID; determining that a HARQ process associated with the HARQ process ID is configured for a configured uplink grant based on a HARQ process ID offset; and starting or restarting a configured grant timer for the HARQ process. Selectively starting the configured grant timer depending on whether an identified HARQ process belongs to one of the multiple configured grant configurations, enables the gNB flexibility to schedule retransmissions or not.

  • Publication number: 20220191918
Abstract: A terminal device for a wireless communication network is configurable with a plurality of transmission time intervals. An example method comprises: receiving a grant message comprising an indication of radio resources in which the terminal device can transmit one or more wireless messages, the radio resources being configured according to a first transmission time interval of the plurality of transmission time intervals; determining the presence of data to transmit, the data being associated with a logical channel; determining a maximum transmission time interval associated with the logical channel; and, responsive to a determination that the maximum transmission time interval associated with the logical channel is less than the first transmission time interval, transmitting a scheduling request message. The scheduling request message is configured according to a second transmission time interval of the plurality of transmission time intervals, shorter than the first.

  • Publication number: 20220191909
Abstract: A method performed by a terminal in a wireless network for determining whether to cancel a scheduling request is provided. The method includes determining that a scheduling request is triggered for requesting an uplink resource for transmission of data to a network node. The method further includes, responsive to an uplink grant from the network node, transmitting the scheduling request to the network node without a cancellation of the scheduling request occurring due to a buffer status report indicator included in a protocol data unit of the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20220183040
Abstract: A method by a wireless device (110) includes receiving a first Downlink Semi-Persistent Scheduling (DL SPS) assignment and a second DL SPS assignment from a network node (160). At least one resource associated with the first DL SPS assignment and at least one resource associated with the second DL SPS assignment are at least partially overlapping. The wireless device compares priority information associated with each of the first DL SPS assignment and the second DL SPS assignment and selects a one of the first DL SPS assignment and the second DL SPS assignment that has a higher priority based on the priority information. The wireless device attempts to decode the Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) according to the selected one of the first DL SPS assignment and the second DL SPS assignment that has the higher priority.

  • Patent number: 11356213
Abstract: Transmitters consider the size of a gap segment adjacent to at least one negatively acknowledged (NACKed) Radio Link Control (RLC) Service Data Unit (SDU) when considering when and/or how to concatenate one or more NACKed SDU segments for retransmission. Depending on which RLC SDU segment(s) is/are NACKed, e.g., considering the size of NACKed segments in relation to Protocol Data Unit (PDU) header size(s) needed, the transmitter implements a single RLC SDU retransmission or multiple RLC SDU segment retransmissions. In so doing, the solution presented herein not only defines how such transmissions occur, but also provides improved efficiency when retransmitting such NACKed SDU segments.

  • Publication number: 20220174683
Abstract: A method performed by a wireless device includes receiving a first grant of resources from a network node. The first grant of resources is associated with first prioritization information. The wireless device constructs a Medium Access Control Protocol Data Unit, MAC PDU, based on the first grant. A second grant of resources that overlaps with the first grant of resources is received from the network node, and the second grant of resources is associated with second prioritization information. The wireless device determines whether to pre-empt transmission of the constructed MAC PDU based on comparing the first prioritization information and second prioritization information and pre-empts the transmission of the constructed MAC PDU if the second prioritization information indicates a higher priority than indicated by the first prioritization information.

  • Patent number: 11297614
Abstract: A node (100) of a cellular network sends an uplink grant (803) to a communication device (10). The uplink grant indicates uplink radio resources allocated to the communication device (10) in reoccurring time intervals. In response to detecting a need for an uplink retransmission (814) by a further communication device (10?) on at least a part of the allocated uplink radio resources in a certain one of the time intervals, the node (100) sends control information (808) to the communication device (10). The control information (808) temporarily disables utilization of at least this part of the allocated uplink radio resources in at least this certain time interval by the communication device (10).
