Abstract: A disposable diaper having an absorbent body that includes a topsheet, a backsheet, a core disposed therebetween. A first barrier wall annularly extends above a top surface of the topsheet. The first barrier wall lies in a rear half section of the absorbent body and is fixed to the absorbent body along a lower peripheral portion thereof so as to define a first opening in a substantially central zone of the first barrier wall. A second barrier wall annularly extends around the first barrier wall over both the front and rear half sections of the absorbent body. A lower peripheral edge portion of the second barrier wall is fixed to the peripheral portion of the absorbent body so as to define a second opening in a substantially central zone of the second barrier wall.

Abstract: A process for making a pants-type diaper without generation of waste material. The pants-type diaper is composed of a body fluid absorbent pad member curved in a U-shape, a front waist member and a rear waist member extending around front and rear waist-halves, respectively. The front and rear waist members are obtained by feeding first and second elastic members in parallel to each other in a machine direction so as to describe substantially sinusoidal curves, respectively, securing these elastic members to one surface of a web fed in the machine direction and then transversely bisecting the web between the first and second elastic members. The first and second elastic members are symmetric to each other about a center line bisecting the web but phase-shifted with respect to each other in the machine direction by half a cycle of the substantially sinusoidal curve.

Abstract: A disposable article for dealing with feces adapted to be used in conjunction with a disposable diaper or diaper cover. The article includes a feces receiving region that is provided in the form of a laminate that includes a top layer provided with at least one opening having an area of 20˜500 mm2, a feces holding layer in the form of a three-dimensional network structure underlying the top layer, a liquid-absorbent layer underlying the holding layer and a liquid-impervious back layer covering a lower surface of the absorbent layer. The laminate has its width progressively reduced toward a front end of the feces receiving pocket and a leakage barrier is formed along transversely opposite side edges of the top layer.

Abstract: A disposable diaper includes transversely opposite side edge regions thereof and the side edge regions are folded to form pleats each presenting a Z-shaped cross section and an body waste disposal sheet is bonded along its transversely opposite side edge regions to upper surfaces of the pleats so that the disposal sheet may be separated from the diaper as the transversely opposite side edge regions of the diaper are held and bilaterally pulled by a person having charge of body waste disposal with his or her hands.
