Patent number: 5979800Abstract: A sprinkler nozzle capable of forming various sprinkling patterns. An inner cylinder laterally surrounds an outer periphery of a nozzle body, a gap within the inner cylinder serves as an inner flow passage, and an outer flow passage is provided outside the inner cylinder. Water from through holes formed in a peripheral wall of the nozzle body is conducted to the inner flow passage or the outer flow passage by operating reciprocatingly the inner cylinder. Further, an enlarged tip end portion formed at its peripheral wall with water flow-in holes is provided contiguous to a closed tip end of the nozzle body, and the water flow-in holes communicate with the inner flow passage so that an operation of the inner cylinder can provide various sprinkling patterns such as a straight rod, mist, cone, watering pot and shower.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1998Date of Patent: November 9, 1999Inventor: Toshio Takagi

Patent number: 5431379Abstract: A method for fastening an input shaft and a torsion bar together in a power steering mechanism, and the associated torsion bar. A ball-receiving hole is bored in the end of the torsion bar. The end of the torsion bar is inserted into a bore in the input shaft and a ball is pressed into the hole to provide an interference fit between the shaft and the bar. Subsequently, the peripheral edge of the hole in the torsion bar is elliptically deformed so as to retain the ball in the hole and the bar in the shaft. Since a portion of the opening is slightly diametrically broadened by the ball, the periphery of the portion closely contacts the inner wall of the input shaft, thereby strengthening the connection between the torsion bar and the input shaft.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1994Date of Patent: July 11, 1995Assignee: TRW Steering Systems Japan Co., Ltd.Inventor: Toshio Takagi

Patent number: 5311117Abstract: In a watt-hour meter in which first and second input signals representing an analog electric current and an analog voltage of an alternating current are converted into first and second digital signals, a first adder produces a sum signal which represents a sum of the first input signal and an additional analog signal of a frequency different from that of the first input signal and which is substituted for the first input signal. The meter may further comprise a second adder which adds another additional analog signal to the second input signal. Alternatively, the meter comprises low-pass filters and oversample-and-convert circuits to produce the first and the second input digital signals.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1992Date of Patent: May 10, 1994Assignee: NEC CorporationInventors: Masatoshi Komatsu, Shigeo Fushimi, Shigenori Wada, Hidetake Nakamura, Tadashi Kobayashi, Toshio Takagi

Patent number: 5188057Abstract: A developing apparatus including a hopper storing toner and carrier and a roller disposed in an opening of the hopper. A carrier stopper is provided on a front wall of the hopper proximate the opening having an arced surface concentrically opposing an upper portion of the roller. Thus, a blend layer volume is formed in a first space between the carrier stopper and the roller for storing a blended layer of carrier and toner such that the carrier stopper prevents carrier from scattering outside the blend layer volume and the conjunctional effect of rotating the roller and of the magnetic force of the rotary magnets in the roller blends the carrier and toner stored in the blended layer. A sub-hopper, proximate the blend layer volume, is also formed by a second space between the carrier stopper and a lateral bottom wall of the hopper for storing toner to be provided to the blended layer.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1990Date of Patent: February 23, 1993Assignees: Kabushiki Kaisha Toshiba, Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Yamanashi Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masaaki Ishikawa, Michihisa Iguchi, Hiroshi Hashizume, Yasuo Fujii, Tetsuya Nakamura, Hirotaka Fukuyama, Seiji Arai, Koichiro Sato, Toshio Takagi, Shuji Nishina, Jiro Hukasawa, Masatoshi Maruta, Seiichi Koizumi

Patent number: 4786458Abstract: A heat-softening plastic material is extruded such that the plastic material forms a pine-shaped outer member and at least one rod-shaped core member is positioned in the inside space of the pipe-shaped outer member. Divided forming molds are disposed about the extruded plastic material except for an entrance opening for introducing gas such that only the pipe-shaped outer member is expanded by the pressurized gas and the thus formed container is subsequently cooled and hardened. The thus formed hollow container has at least one rod-shaped support extending between the upper and lower ends on the inside of the hollow container. The container will not expand and remains stable even if a high pressure fluid is introduced into the inside of the container.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1986Date of Patent: November 22, 1988Inventor: Toshio Takagi

Patent number: 4660053Abstract: In a thermal transfer recording method for use in a recording apparatus using a roll of recording paper of an ordinary paper material wound about a core and a strip of ink ribbon would about an ink ribbon feeding roll, recording is effected by means of a thermal head while both the recording paper and the ink ribbon are transported forwardly in the superimposed state. During transportation of the recording paper and the ink ribbon after the recording, they are parted away one from the other and only the recording paper is transported to an automatic cutter by means of which a part of the recording paper on which recording has been effected is cut off. After completion of cutting operation an unused parts of the recording paper and the ink ribbon are transported backwardly to the position where the leading end of the thus returned recording paper is located in the proximity of the thermal head.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1985Date of Patent: April 21, 1987Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Teruo Tsutsumi, Sadao Ikeda, Toshio Takagi
