  • Patent number: 5511436
Abstract: A transmission assembly adapted to be mounted on a front of a vehicle axle casing as a substitute for a hydrostatic transmission comprises a transmission casing (1) and a drive shaft (2) at a high level, a speed-change shaft (4) at a low level, and an intermediate shaft (3) at a level intermediate between the drive and change shafts. These shafts extend within the transmission casing axially of this casing. The intermediate shaft is located aside in a direction across the casing. A clutch (5) is disposed on the drive shaft at an axial mid portion of this shaft, and a hollow shaft (6) which is driven to rotate by the drive shaft through the clutch is disposed on the drive shaft at one axial side of the clutch. A first mechanical speed-change mechanism (7) is disposed between the hollow shaft and intermediate shaft, whereas a second mechanical speed-change mechanism is disposed between the intermediate shaft and change shaft.

  • Patent number: 5385513
Abstract: Within a vehicle transmission casing (11), a plurality of speed-reducing and -changing gear trains are disposed between a drive shaft (12), which extends laterally of the transmission casing, and a differential gearing (13) for driving left and right wheel axles (15) differentially. The gear trains are composed of plural gears (17, 18; 117, 118, 119), which are fixedly mounted on the drive shaft, and another plural gears (20, 21; 120, 121, 122) which are rotatably mounted on a differential casing (14) of the gearing and mesh respectively with the gears on the drive shaft. A clutch member (23; 123) is disposed on the differential casing for coupling the gears thereon one at a time to this casing. The gears on the differential casing are preferably mounted on this casing through sleeve members (24a, 25b) which may be integral with a collar member (24) for supporting the clutch member slidably but non-rotatably relative to the differential casing.

  • Patent number: 5277270
Abstract: In a vehicle comprising a transaxle (2) which is fixedly attached at its left and right axle casings (5) to left and right body frame members (1), a mechanism for preventing the transaxle from being rotationally displaced about wheel axles (4) is provided. The mechanism comprises a rotation-preventing beam (6), fixedly provided to the frame members, and engaging projections (7, 8) fixedly disposed on a transmission casing (3) of the transaxle. Attachment portions of the body frame for the transaxle are well prevented from being deformed so that no substantial inclination of the transaxle is caused.

  • Patent number: 5267477
Abstract: A carrier has a rear wheel driving transmission which comprises a drive shaft extending longitudinally of the body of the carrier, and an output shaft disposed approximately horizontally away from an intermediate shaft below the drive shaft. This arrangement renders the transmission flat, thereby making it possible to position a power take-off device in a clearance between the transmission and a body frame. Consequently, the rear wheels of the carrier can be arranged at a rearward portion of the body, with the engine and load carrying platform of the carrier positioned at a low level, to give improved running stability to the carrier.

  • Patent number: 5142940
Abstract: In a transmission assembly comprising a transmission casing (11) disposed between left and right rear wheels (13) and a hydrostatic transmission (16) supported by a plate member (15) secured to a front of the transmission casing, an axial plunger-type hydraulic pump (17) of the hydrostatic transmission is mounted on a rear of an upper portion of the plate member and is disposed within the transmission casing. One of the side walls (11a) of the transmission casing includes an opening (24) for assembling into the casing not only a transmission mechanism disposed between a laterally extending reduction shaft (20), driven by a motor shaft (18a) of the hydrostatic transmission, and rear wheel axles (12), but a swash plate (23) of the hydraulic pump. A side cover (25) which closes the opening is used for supporting the transmission mechanism and swash plate so as to permit to assemble the swash plate into the transmission casing together with the transmission mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5131951
Abstract: A paper coating composition which comprises:(I) a pigment,(II) an aqueous binder, and(II) a resinous ingredient comprising (A) a water-soluble resin which is prepared by cross-linking (a) a condensation product of (al) an alkylenediamine or a polyalkylenepolyamine and (a2) an urea compound with (b) a cross-linking compound. This composition imparts excellent ink receptivity, excellent water resistance, and in particular, excellent anti-blister property to paper.

  • Patent number: 5099936
Abstract: In a tractor having a mid-PTO shaft (13) and a rear-PTO shaft (22) which are journalled in a transmission casing (10) disposed between left and right rear wheels (12), a PTO-selecting clutch (20) for selectively operating both of or any one of the PTO shafts is disposed on a rear end portion (13a) of the mid-PTO shaft. The selecting clutch includes an input gear (17), drivenly connected to a drive shaft (14) through a PTO-clutch (15) and through a first gearing (16), and an intermediate gear (19) drivingly connected to the rear-PTO shaft. In a preferred embodiment, a second rear-PTO shaft (24) is provided on which the intermediate gear is fixedly mounted. The selecting clutch disposed on the mid-PTO shaft contributes to make the structure and parts of power take-off transmission assembly largely common between tractors having both of the mid- and rear-PTO shafts and having only a mid-PTO shaft.

  • Patent number: 5083885
Abstract: A laying structure for a vacuum sewer pipe of a vacuum sewage collecting system for collecting sewage discharged from homes and facilities into a collecting tank through a vacuum sewer pipe kept negative in pressure internally is disclosed. The vacuum sewer pipe includes a portion laid in a plain topography which comprises a downward pitch portion sloped toward downstream, and a short upward pitch portion connected to the downstream end of the downward pitch portion to return a depth of the vacuum sewer pipe to an original level, the downward pitch portion and the upward pitch portion are alternated at least once. The upward pitch portion starts from a spot deepened from the original laying level by a depth corresponding to 0.8 to 1.0 times of a bore of the vacuum sewer pipe. By this arrangement, an air lock is not produced at the upward pitch portion even if the quantity of air flowing in the vacuum sewer pipe is low.
