  • Patent number: 4958936
Abstract: An electronic thermometer includes a temperature sensing assembly incorporating a temperature sensor element, and a measuring and processing unit for determining and displaying the temperature, wherein the temperature sensing assembly and the measuring and processing unit are physically separable from each other. The temperature sensing assembly includes a code for recording information of the temperature characteristic or the like of the incorporated temperature sensor element. With the aid of the code, the measuring and processing unit is capable of correcting nonuniformity in the characteristic of the mutually exchangeable temperature sensing assemblies, to thereby assure a correct reading.

  • Patent number: 4942874
Abstract: An improved steam inhaler for producing steam from water and aspirating inhalation liquid having a certain medical efficacy with the steam, comprising: a water supply tank, a first conduit, a first heating chamber, a second conduit, a second heating chamber, and a steam nozzle, along the path the water conveyed. The first and second heating chambers are provided with heating elements, and a one-way valve is provided in the first conduit. Therefore, the water boiled in the first chamber is conducted into the second heating chamber and prevented from returning to the water tank by the one-way valve. The water is completely vaporized in the second heating chamber. Since the water is thus metered from the water tank into the first heating chamber substantially upon demand, the steam inhaler can be activated immediately after the power is turned on, and can be deactivated immediately after the power is turned off.

  • Patent number: 4847528
Abstract: A composite unit including metal and resin wherein a metal member and a resin member are formed integrally. A seal film made of resin or rubber having high affinity to metal and characterized by flexibility is interposed between contact surfaces of the metal member and the resin member. The seal film is formed of a dispersion having as its main component a copolymer of alkyl methacrylate-alkyl acrylate. The metal member is formed of an Fe group material and the resin member is formed of polyamide resin. The seal film, after being coated on the outer surface of the metal member as a liquid material is embedded in the resin member by insert-molding resin. The metal member is formed to provide a bracket of a starter motor and the resin member to provide a brush holder. A seal member made of rubber is baked onto the contact surfaces between the bracket and the brush holder, and the seal member is embedded in the brush holder made of resin.

  • Patent number: 4673836
Abstract: A revolving electric machine wherein a brush holder formed of resin is solidly secured to a bracket and this bracket is jointed to an opening of a yoke. The bracket is formed into a thin plate shape. A portion of the bracket is clamped from the opposite side by a resin material of the brush holder, whereby the bracket is integrally formed with the brush holder. A faucet joint portion of the brush holder is formed when the brush holder is formed of resin and the faucet joint portion is faucet-jointed to the opening of the yoke, whereby the bracket is center-aligned with the yoke. One of the terminals of a brush penetrates through a resin material of the brush holder and is extracted to the outside. The outer of the terminals of the brush is connected to the outside of the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4613167
Abstract: An insulating pipe joint is disclosed. The joint comprises a first tubular member, a second tubular member comprising a cylinder having the same inside diameter as that of the first tubular member and an annular metal stopper at one end of said cylinder, and an insulator made of a glass/mica composition and a cured organic, solventless resin. The annular metal stopper has an inside diameter larger than the outside diameter of the first tubular member, and the annular metal stopper nests the first tubular member with a space left between them. The insulator fills the space to hold the first and second tubular members in position and provide air- and water-tightness, and secures the insulation creeping distance between each tubular member.
