  • Publication number: 20030093210
Abstract: A vehicle travel control apparatus makes an own vehicle automatically follow a vehicle in front by setting a target acceleration/deceleration G0 using travel data expressing behavior of the vehicle, travel environment, driving operations and others. Here, during vehicle travel based on driver control, multiple travel data are sampled a predetermined number of times to perform multiple regression analysis on that sampled data. Preference data expressing preferences of the driver (multiple regression coefficients) are thereby obtained, and target acceleration/deceleration computation data are updated using these multiple regression coefficients. As a result, it is possible to control the behavior of the vehicle in accordance with preferences of the driver during automatic following control execution.

  • Patent number: 6269660
Abstract: A lamp for vehicle that includes a light source, a housing, a reflector and a lens is disclosed. The lens is made by the process that includes the steps of (a) assuming an imaginary plane with a cross hatching pattern made of crossing groups of plural lines disposed in parallel at a constant pitch, (b) deforming the imaginary plane by a desired shape consisting of a convex surface, a concave surface or a combination of both surfaces, so that the cross hatching pattern is deformed into a process surface, and (c) processing a lens cut in accordance with the cross hatching pattern when the process surface is orthographically projected onto the lens surface. The deformation given to the imaginary plane is performed so that the maximum pitch of the cross hatching pattern orthographically projected onto the lens surface is 1.5 times or more and 20 times or less the minimum pitch. The lens cut may have curvatures of the same diffusion coefficient regardless of the pitch of the cross hatching pattern.

  • Patent number: 6010947
Abstract: An end portion of a trench isolating region has a shape of steps so that a residual gate material can be easily removed and it is possible to prevent from conducting between gates. An oxide film 2, a first stopper 3 and a second stopper 4 are formed on a semiconductor substrate 1 (FIG. 1A). The materials of the first and second stoppers may be selected from materials having different oxidation rates, materials having different isotropic etching rates and the combinations thereof. Then, a resist is formed by patterning, and then, the anisotropic etching of the second stopper 4 of a silicon nitride layer, the first stopper 3 of a polycrystal silicon, the oxide film 2 and the semiconductor substance 1 is carried out (FIG. 1B). After peeling off the resist 7, oxidation is carried out by tens nm to form an oxide film 5 (FIG. 1C). At this time, since the first stopper 3 is made of a material which is easily oxidized, the oxide film 5 grows in a lateral direction to be formed therein. Then, a SiO.sub.

  • Patent number: 5840618
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a semiconductor device that does not interfere with electrical connection of a polysilicon interconnection layer to a source/drain region of a transistor. Patterning of the interconnection layer and the gate electrode occurs prior to removal of an underlying oxide film to prevent etching of the substrate. An interconnection layer of amorphous material is formed on the oxide film, and the patterned interconnection layer is subsequently electrically connected to the substrate by introducing ions into the amorphous material to reduce the oxide film underneath the interconnection layer. After introduction of ions into the amorphous layer, the amorphous material is crystallized to increase the conductivity of the interconnection layer.

  • Patent number: 5148670
Abstract: An apparatus for the domestic cogeneration of heat and electrical energy utilizing an inverted Brayton cycle gas turbine, a combustion chamber, an electrical generator and a compressor. Combustion air is preheated in a heat exchanger by gaseous combustion gases or exhaust gases exiting from the turbine. The combustion air is supplied at substantially atmospheric pressure to the combustion chamber where fuel is burned. The cooled gaseous combustion gases exiting from the heat exchanger are then fed to the compressor where they are recompressed to atmospheric pressure, and are finally used to heat the working fluid of a domestic heating system before being exhausted to the atmosphere.
