  • Publication number: 20070007194
Abstract: In a fuel cell system 20 mounted on a fuel cell vehicle of the invention, water separated by a gas-liquid separator 38 included in a hydrogen supply system and by a gas-liquid separator 48 included in an air supply discharge system 40 is temporarily accumulated in buffer tanks 62a through 62c, which are set inside a front fender or inside a front bumper of the vehicle. The accumulated water is released from water outlets 64b and 64c located forward and backward a front wheel of the vehicle having relatively little potential effects of vehicle wind or air flow caused by motion of the vehicle. For the purpose of reducing the potential effects of the vehicle wind on the released water, the fuel cell vehicle may have an air flow path that makes the released water flown obliquely backward the vehicle by the air flow or form an air curtain of exhaust gas or the air ahead of the released water.

  • Publication number: 20070000702
Abstract: Water contained in exhaust gas discharged from a fuel cell stack 22 is separated by a gas-liquid separator 48 and is accumulated in a recovery tank 54. The procedure of the invention sets a release amount of water and selects one or multiple positions for water release, based on the driving conditions including the vehicle speed and the acceleration, the turning state, activation or non-activation of skid reduction control, the distance from any object detected by clearance sonars 94a through 94d, a distance from a subsequent vehicle measured by an extremely high frequency radar 92, and the presence of raindrops detected by a raindrop detection sensor, and releases the water accumulated in the recovery tank 54 from water outlets at the selected one or multiple positions among water outlets 58a through 58f at multiple different locations. This arrangement ensures adequate release of the water produced by the fuel cell stack 22 to the atmosphere.

  • Publication number: 20060161382
Abstract: A three-dimensional shape measuring method and a measuring apparatus thereof that allow the operation of a robot to be readily taught and set in a short time when a three-dimensional measuring device mounted on the robot is caused to move along the surface of a work, thereby measuring the shape of the work. The invention is characterized by setting and recording (Step S1) a block data representative of measurement operation that causes the three-dimensional measuring device, which is a laser scanner, to move along the surface of the work; longitudinally copying (Step S2) and laterally copying (Step S3) the block data after entering the size and basic shape type of the work; and by measuring (Step S4) the shape of the work on the basis of the copied block data.

  • Publication number: 20050270794
Abstract: A light access can be integrally formed with a light guide on at least one end of the light guide. A printed circuit board with an LED lamp mounted thereon can be press-fitted in the light access for transient arrangement, and can be fixed by a cover. The position of the printed circuit board can be determined in relation to the light guide. For example, engagement hooks of the light access can be fitted with recesses in the printed circuit board for positioning the circuit board in a plane normal to the longitudinal direction of the light guide. Similarly, positioning ribs of the light guide can be employed for positioning in the longitudinal direction of the light guide. The light guide can be formed in an almost rod shape having four sides in section normal to the longitudinal direction of the light guide. A light guide lens can be formed in one surface and a diffuser cut can be formed in the opposite surface of the light guide.

  • Patent number: 6957138
Abstract: A vehicle travel control apparatus makes an own vehicle automatically follow a vehicle in front by setting a target acceleration/deceleration G0 using travel data expressing behavior of the vehicle, travel environment, driving operations and others. Here, during vehicle travel based on driver control, multiple travel data are sampled a predetermined number of times to perform multiple regression analysis on that sampled data. Preference data expressing preferences of the driver (multiple regression coefficients) are thereby obtained, and target acceleration/deceleration computation data are updated using these multiple regression coefficients. As a result, it is possible to control the behavior of the vehicle in accordance with preferences of the driver during automatic following control execution.

  • Patent number: 6942915
Abstract: This invention relates to fibre reinforced plastic (“FPR”) roofing materials with a sandwich structure. A pair of sheets of FRP are arranged with a gap between them, and a rib structure which joins the sheets is interposed. Further, this invention relates to a method for producing FRP roofing material in which channels are provided in the core material and a reinforcing fibre impregnated with a resin is distributed through these channels. A preferred joint structure for the roofing material is to use butt joints and to provide a connecting layer extending across the surfaces of both ends of the sandwich structures. A layer containing a resin distribution medium is provided between the abutting end faces. This invention overcomes various problems of conventional joint structures, permitting the ends of the sandwich structures to be easily, firmly and cheaply joined together, ensuring high joint strength and rigidity, while achieving excellent appearance.

  • Publication number: 20050093287
Abstract: In a fuel cell vehicle 10 of the invention, fuel cells 20 are integrally placed in a lower space 15 of a front seat 14, while a secondary battery 40 is integrally placed in a lower space 18 of a rear seat 17. The integral arrangements of the fuel cells 20 and the secondary battery 40 separately in the lower space 15 of the front seat 14 and in the lower space 18 of the rear seat 17 ensure high-performance operations of both the fuel cells 20 and the secondary battery 40 having different working environments. This arrangement also attains the effective use of the generally-dead, lower spaces 15 and 18 of the front and rear seats 14 and 17 to receive the fuel cells 20, the secondary battery 40, and their peripheral equipment.
