  • Publication number: 20180046613
Abstract: Embodiments presented herein describe techniques for generating a linguistic model of input data obtained from a data source (e.g., a video camera). According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a sequence of symbols is generated based on an ordered stream of normalized vectors generated from the input data. A dictionary of words is generated from combinations of the ordered sequence of symbols based on a frequency at which combinations of symbols appear in the ordered sequence of symbols. A plurality of phrases is generated based an ordered sequence of words from the dictionary observed in the ordered sequence of symbols based on a frequency by which combinations of words in ordered sequence of words appear relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 9853751
Abstract: In a digital communication system there is provided a method for OFDM channel estimation that jointly considers the effects of coarse timing error and multipath propagation. The method uses an iterative channel estimation technique, which considers the practical scenario of fractional timing error and non-sample space echo delays. The method does not require channel state information such as second-order statistic of the channel impulse responses or the noise power. Moreover, timing error can be conveniently obtained with the proposed technique. Simulation shows that, when comparing OFDM channel estimation techniques under DOCSIS 3.1 realistic channel conditions, the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms conventional methods.

  • Publication number: 20160158597
Abstract: A push-up exercise device for assisting in performing a push-up exercise is described which may enable a user to reduce stress on the wrists by not having to bend them during the exercise while also allows a user to engage more muscles to balance one's self during the course of the push-up. The device includes a handle and a support structure which has a curve shape. The shape of the support structure allows the handle to rotate or move in a substantially vertical plane along its length, while preventing the handle from rotating along its longitudinal axis. Additionally the exercise device can be turned to its side where the handle and part of the support structure form a stable base on a planar surface while the other part of the support structure can be used as a grasp section.

  • Patent number: 9235527
Abstract: In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, a method and system for parallel computing is provided, that reduces the time necessary for the execution of program function. In order to reduce the time needed to execute aspects of a program, multiple program threads are executed simultaneously, while thread 0 of the program is also executed. These threads are executed simultaneously with the aid of at least one cache of the computing device on which the program is being run. Such a framework reduces wasted computing power and the time necessary to execute aspects of a program.

  • Publication number: 20140290481
Abstract: A system for ridding the working area of a nail salon work station of fumes and nail dust. The system is self-contained within the particular work station and has a vacuum system that draws air in from the area surrounding and proximate the working area to remove the fumes and dust. A fan draws that air into a chamber containing a bag-type, particulate filter that filters out the nail dust. Downstream of the bag-type filter is a fume filter that receives the air from the bag-type filter, having been pressurized by the fan, and provides a filter of the fumes. The air, now having passed through a particulate filter and a fume filter is exhausted into the room at a location remote from the working area. The bag-type filter is inexpensive and readily replaced.

  • Publication number: 20140260541
Abstract: An apparatus and method for sensing the amount of a gas in a fluid are disclosed. The apparatus may include a gas sensor, a temperature sensor, a first temperature adjusting unit, or a second temperature adjusting unit. The first and second temperature adjusting units may control the temperature of the gas sensor. The first and second temperature adjusting units may each be used to control the temperature of the gas sensor. According to one technique, they may be used simultaneously to control the temperature of the gas sensor. The temperature sensor may be used to sense the temperature of the gas sensor when it has stabilized to the fluid temperature in which it is being used and the temperature of the gas sensor when it is being controlled by at least one of the first or second temperature adjusting units.
