Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for managing a lock to a resource shared among a plurality of processors. Slots in a memory implement the lock on the shared resource. The slots correspond to counter values that are consecutively numbered and indicate one of busy and free. A requesting processor fetches a counter value comprising a fetched counter value. A determination is made as to whether the slot corresponding to the fetched counter value indicates free. A processor identifier of the requesting processor is inserted into the slot corresponding to the fetched counter value in response to determining that the slot corresponding to the fetched counter value indicates not free. The requesting processor accesses the shared resource in response to determining that the slot corresponding to the fetched counter value indicates free.

Abstract: A rack-power control module (RPC) module is used for allowing a local storage partition, located on a local server, for controlling a destination storage partition, located on a destination server, by piggybacking commands on power alerts issued by the RPC module in a clustered storage system. The commands are sent from the local storage partition to the RPC module, where the commands are RPC commands and include a destination server identification (ID) and payload data that includes a hypervisor command containing a command type, a subtype, and a destination ID. The RPC module then parses the commands received from the local storage partition.

Abstract: A device may be or include a cartridge configured to receive a head gimbal assembly (HGA) of a storage device and electrically connect the HGA to a HGA testing device. The cartridge may include a pre-amplifier configured to be electrically connected with corresponding electrical traces of the HGA and to the HGA testing device; a plurality of probe pins electrically connected to the pre-amplifier and configured to be electrically connected to corresponding electrical traces of the HGA; and a clamper including a dielectric layer and configured to selectively assume an open or closed configuration. In the closed configuration, the plurality of probe pins is electrically connected to corresponding ones of the plurality of electrical traces of the HGA. The clamper, in combination with at least some of the probe pins, forms an electrical filter configured to at least condition signals to and from the pre-amplifier and the HGA.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for reproducing an issue via a remote access controller by providing the remote access controller with a method for allowing a user to take a snapshot (i.e., a representation of the state of all components of an integration environment at a particular point in time) of an integration of the various components administered via a management application suite executing on a remote access controller. In certain embodiments, the management application suite comprises an OpenManage Integration for VMware vCenter. Such a method reduces the time needed to determine a root cause of an issue and assists system managers in properly providing a solution to the issue.

In one embodiment, a system includes a page fault handling function and a memory address mapping function. Upon receipt of a page fault, the page fault handling function maps an evicted virtual memory address to a stressed page and maps a stressed virtual memory address to a free page using the memory address mapping function.

Abstract: Processes for separating conjunct polymer from an organic phase are described. A mixture comprising an ionic liquid phase and the organic phase into the ionic phase and an organic phase comprising the conjunct polymer and at least one silyl or boryl compound. The organic phase is separated in a fractionation column into an overhead fraction comprising unreacted silane or borane compound and a bottoms fraction comprising the conjunct polymer and the silyl or boryl compound. The bottoms fraction is passed through an adsorption zone, and the silyl or boryl compound is recovered. Alternatively, the organic phase is passed through an adsorption zone first to remove the conjunct polymer and then a fractionation zone to separate the unreacted silane or borane compound from the silyl or boryl compound.

Abstract: Methods of recovering droplets of ionic liquid catalyst from a process stream are described. The volume fraction of ionic liquid in the hydrocarbon is increased to cause the ionic liquid droplets to coalesce. One method incorporates various combinations of gravity separation zone(s) and fractionation zones. Another method involves using a combination of a flash vessel and a fractionation zone, as well as an optional gravity separation zone.

Abstract: One or more processes for recovering entrained ionic liquid from a hydrocarbon phase containing droplets of ionic liquid are described. The processes includes contacting the hydrocarbon phase containing the droplets of ionic liquid with a retaining material in a separation zone. The droplets of ionic liquid are retained by the retaining material. The ionic liquid may be recovered from the retaining material with a solvent or desorbent. The retaining material may be regenerated and the ionic liquid may be reactivated. The retaining material may be used in a wash vessel to retain or remove contaminant solids within the reactor or other vessels.
